Yesterday I received an IM from someone asking if my Rufus avatar picture was the 'other half' as they put it of on of their favourite pictures of Rufus. I was pleased to be able to reply 'Yes it is.' In 2006, I met Roof after a matinee performance of Rock 'n' Roll. I asked if I could have a photo of him. He replied yes, but wouldn't I like to be in it ? !!!!!!!. I replied of course I would, so he asked Alice Eve to take us together. Alice was having problems with my camera, but Roof, who is very keen on photography, as you know. immediately knew what to do to get the right picture. There were actually two, but Roof said that he had closed his eyes for the first picture and that she needed to take another. I cut myself out of the picture and sent the other part to Ginny for Aboutrufus.com. I didn't like the picture of myself at the time, but four years on I don't think it was that bad ! Here are the two pictures, first of all the cropped picture and then one of both of us.

Oh, VERY nice, Annie! Looks like you got to see him in warm weather - I had rain/freezing temperatures!
Thanks for sharing these with us.

Oh, VERY nice, Annie! Looks like you got to see him in warm weather - I had rain/freezing temperatures! Thanks for sharing these with us. I forgot to add this was my third attempt ( though the first time can't really be counted. I didn't wait for that long). I first saw the play on a very hot day in June at the Royal Court and I waited a little while, but didn't know whether Rufus would come out or go to the bar. The second time was in August at the Duke of York's and the weather was similar to how you desribed and Rufus didn't come out ! The third time was in mid-October and I mentioned to him 'I waited for you in the rain. ' He was very nice about it and said 'Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. I don't always go out for dinner.'

Thanks for sharing your wonderful picture with Rufus with us Annie. And what a great picture it is, from the lovely smiles and good lighting (neither one of you is washed out by the flash or in shadow, and there's an urban-cool to the dark contrasting background, you're in a cute outfit having a good hair day with Rufus looking particularly fresh and happy- it's just lovely. Us Rufus fans would be grateful to have any picture with him as it would mean that had been lucky enough to meet him, but I think most Rooftoppers would be really thrilled to have one turn out like yours. (And as we know, some did just recently -as so many fun new avatars do attest ;D) Like I said before, it seems like Christmas came early to Rooftop Central!

very nice Annie, you two are looking so good and happy in this pic. Thanks for sharing! It's nice to see that Rufus cares about the pics, other stars would just smile and wouldn't care if theyre eyes are closed or not. He's a true gentlemen, actor and photographer I would like to meet him and talk about photography. That conversation would be very interesting!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful picture with Rufus with us Annie!!! Annie, if I understand well, you saw RnR three times, just as GE2? When I'll have more free time, I would like to know your opinion on RnR, what led you to see it 3 times? If only it was Rufus? That same question I'm interested in the course of GE2. I've been reading everything on: rufussewell.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=work&action=display&thread=143&page=5 but really I got the impression that all girls visited this show for a many times just for Rufus.

Thank you all for your comments. I am pleased that you like the photo. Annie, if I understand well, you saw RnR three times, just as GE2? I know I have given that impression, but I only saw the play once, so GE2 and others who did should be congratulated for that. I would have liked to have seen the play again, but I didn't get time. If I had it would have been just for Rufus, though other performers were also very good. In August 2006 I went to the West End theatre especially to see Rufus and in October when I did finally did get to see him, I was on my way to another play.

Persistence paid off for you very well, Anniem! Thanks for sharing this lovely story and photo. BTW, both of you look like you've been friends for ages in that photo, very relaxed and natural.
