The Dylan Thomas connection is interesting but I'd just like to own a place called The Pelican in Laugharne.
It would be nice if there were photos. How can you buy something if you don't know how it looks?

'tis true. Also, could you buy a property from a company called Terry Thomas? They're probably an absolute shower...

Here ya go, Maxx. I've been to Laugharne. It's gorgeous. Not sure if the photo will appear here, but I gave the url for the webpage. You have to scroll down a ways to find the house. Rai [http://www.newquay-westwales.co.uk/dylan_thomas/pelican.jpg/img] www.newquay-westwales.co.uk/dylan_thomas.htm

thanks rai, but it would still be nice to see the INSIDE. One of the other links gives a description of each room, but no photos. Which of course I find odd considering how we do things in the States where you have a virtual tour up for each of the main rooms.
I guess I would have to go to Wales and have a look.

Most British estate agents now give interior photos on their websites, no idea why this one hasn't. Probably because it's in Wales, where electricity has only just arrived.

All that for £400K?! It would be more than twice that in this neck of the woods!! a steal even at £800K. Here they wouldn't let you in to look at it for that. Of course I say that not having any idea what the exchange rate is today.

I saw this yesterday one of the photos with the article showed a tiny bit of one of the rooms, his mum was sat in front of an old fireplace in what looks like a lounge.

Looks lovely from the outside doesnt it? I went to Laugharne last year coincidentally - I have a friend who is a Dylan freak and she persuaded me to visit. It was a super little place and I would be happy to live there, shame about the L400K though, not on my horizon for a long time. The castle there was absolutely idyllic and the walk down to Dylan's house was lovely.

aw I love it! I especially like the dining and the yellow room... but it would need a lot of work and tender loving care. now if I could just work out a way to commute from Wales.... hum...
