Just got to see it (finally)! I thought it was actually quite good. Didn't see the ending coming... although that may be in part because I found it very believable that Rufus would be the guy. ;D And of course if Paul Bettany's character was convinced, how could I not be? lol But I must concede that yes, Angelina Jolie's acting was rather flat. Still an enjoyable movie, however. I especially liked how it became a sort of game. "Ooh, when is Rufus going to pop up next?" Just seen The Tourist today. Like Anna, was awaiting for Rufus to appear. Angelina was a bit wooden but an OK movie. Wish there was more airtime of Rufus and damn, he was gorgeous in his tuxado. Love Ophelia

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself, it's just brilliant (the picture here is the one at the end where Rufus is sort of arrested, page 6 of our thread): Hey, ladies, where are the signs? You are complaining "poor Rufus" when the director did his best to please us! - Rufus is wearing a tuxedo! (And Wichi posted only this: ) He is the most elegant in the pic! - Each other guy has an ugly angry face, but Rufus is beautiful and even provoking! - He's clean shaven while Alessio Boni looks like a bear! - They even tied his hands back to prevent him from putting them into his pockets! - There are six men in the pic but our Rufus is in the middle! (OK, there is a nasty gun in the hand of Giovanni Guidelli, but who cares? This is a boyish pic, there must be something typical symbol.) So come on, let's I could't have said it better!!! Loved the film, loved the Englishman, who happened to be the "bad-not so bad" guy, who stole from the mafia and payed his taxes! BTW, Jolie and Depp were kind of ... flat and boring. But I guess my standards are too high .

I came across it Sunday perhaps? on starz...watched it, loving the scenery more than the plot, kept on thinking about Zen and Marco (; but I started gigglesnort when hearing Bettany mention "Lichstenstein".....brought me back to Adhemar! Overall, It's like watching the Holidays.....where you sit on the beginning and towards the end to catch a glimpse of Rufus, but I preferred my wanky, selfish, heartless-Jasper over Mr. Tourist......

Well, I was unsure about ever seeing this since Rufus' role is so teeny, but while I was babysitting today I was flicking around the TV while my little 3 month old charge was asleep, and saw that The Tourist was about to begin. I had just under a couple of hours left before her dad would come home so I thought "why not? It's something Rufusy you have yet to see." So I watched it. And I loved it! (Why am I always so surprised? ) I'm very grateful though that I waited so long, because if I'd seen it early on in my Rufusitis I would not have been a happy camper. I've seen all the screencaps so I knew exactly when he'd be popping up but not exactly when in the film (I was surprised that he was in it from the very beginning!) I really got into the story and although you're all correct in saying the acting by Johnny and Angelina is a little wooden (although I think in Angelina's case that can be excused. She's meant to be a glam, sexy mystery woman so it was probably a bit boring for her). Johnny was meh. I hated his hair; and every time he put on his English accent it ruined it for me. I always think of Capt. Jack or Sweeney Todd when he does that. I thought Paul Bettany was great, and I wish Timothy Dalton had been given a few more lines. I love, love, LOVED how Venice looked. I've been wanting to visit there for years. Good lord, what a beautiful place! I wanted to jump right in that sparkling blue water. And although I've seen the scene countless times now, I have to say my favourite Rufus bit (other than at the very beginning) was in the hotel. I love the serene look on his face as he watches Angelina and Johnny walk away with that warm golden light shining on his perfect face.

Was very disappointed when this film arrived via Netflix His part was so small I thought what a complete waste of talent. And yes as ravishing as Jolie was she was a bit wooden to say the least.

Hey, Peach - long time no see! Hope you'll be back more in 2012!
You're right, this was a complete waste of his talent, but I'm sure he enjoyed the location filming!
