THank you to all who posted a comment on this Board. It has just bee my pleasure to work my way though all 7 pages. Two things were noticable and I must comment upon them ....1] the question of regional DVD's.... I acquired a multi-region DVD player for less than £20 so I never have a problem with playing non European region DVD's. And secondly I agree Davis has an annoying habit of seemingly diverting from the original story line, but looking back over several of his mini series, I do believe he helps the viewer come to terms with the bits that drag during such long series.

Thomas Clarkson: What?! It's poetry week, Nell, you know this very well!! Words and Music. I am in the middle of teaching a Thomas Traherne poem, you shouldn't force such a little baby to start watching Middlemarch right now. 7 episodes of George Eliot?! For God's sake, that's a lot of babbling!

My Dear Mr Clarkson Your talk of babbling raised my eye-brows! I am certain the little baby would much prefer to watch me swishing my coat tails than listen to you reciting poetry. However, if it is sleep you intend to induce I urge you to continue.......... Meanwhile, I feel I must boast remind you that Middlemarch is on tv all week and the Words & Music you referred to aired on 1 lonely little evening. I consider therefore it must be referred to as Words & Music day and Middlemarch week....... Your faithful friend Will

Dear Mr Ladislaw,
Let me inform you that I find your behaviour highly offensive. Calling someone boring is the worst insult I can imagine. Besides, I am fully aware of whose attention you are seeking, so if you swish your coat tails just one more time to impress Mrs Casaubon, I'll bite your head off.
Yours faithfully, Edward Casaubon

Rosie: So, Will, it's Sunday, the last episode of Middlemarch...what could be a lovely ending? You wouldn't recite a poem, I know, but a musical finale could be cute, don't you think? Do you want to sing a love song? I'll accompany you. Will: Umm, no, I have a better idea...Will: A kiss, yes, the ending should be a kiss!! Rosie: Okay. <she puckers her lips> Goodbye, Nell! Enjoy the last episode tonight, audience!
