have been wondering if i was the only fan to be fixated on his hands. it's the second thing i notice about a man - after his eyes. although, of course, in this case, it was actually the third because who could get past the voice - the voice - the gorgeous voice.

have been wondering if i was the only fan to be fixated on his hands It feels good to find out you're not, isn't it? I absolutely love his beautiful hands along with his face and voice and just about everything else. I've watched the film for the third time on Monday and still maintain that Frank was the most complex and funny character in this one, even if he's bitter and acerbic. I totally love his discussion with Martha about who's had the harder life so far and his fierce glare when Daniel catches a taxi without any trouble while he gets left in the rain again. And yes, Meg, I think it's the "Seagull"!

Oh no, Anglophile, you are far from being the only fan obsessed with his hands! They're absolutely beautiful, just like the rest of him! Thanks, Kate. The only reason I asked so nerdy a question was because I have a volume of Chekhov I've been meaning to crack open for some time and ever since I saw MMFD&L, I've been wondering which play he quotes from (although I think the only thing he gets right in the quote is "I love my mother"!) Aww Frank. Bless him

thanks for reinforcing my basic belief that i am not crazy -- simply understandably obsessed. my college daughter - whom i emoted to while she was visiting over the weekend - just told me she has discussed her crazy mom's fixation with her friends. i may never be able to visit savannah, ga. again. oh well, i'll just go to london and listen for the voice on some busy street instead.

Hi, Anglophile, and welcome! It seems to hit most of us pretty hard! I've given up analyzing why it's happened; I've just decided it's a wonderful gift to enjoy. ;D Please feel free to start a new thread in the Members section to introduce yourself. We always love to meet and welcome new people, and these "works" threads turn over so quickly, not everyone sees them. Also, check for a PM (private message) I'm sending you.

Before I married, a chap's hands would clinch whether to go out with a him, or not. So, no, it's definately not mad! Ruf's hands are just lovely!

Hi, anglophile. When you're signed in to your account, you should see a message on the upper right hand of the page (next to the P in The Rooftop logo), saying "Hey, anglophile, you have {number} messages, {number} are new. The first number should be blue, and if you click on that number, it will take you to your inbox and show you the messages people have sent to you. (The messages you eventually send will be in your "outbox." Once you're in your inbox, there will be a link to the outbox in the blue bar.) To navigate around the board, you can either click on "Home" (right under "Sewell" in the logo) or you can click on "The Rooftop: A Rufus Sewell Message Board" which is in blue letters just above the blue bar, under the logo. This will take you back to the home page, where you will see all the main categories: News, Works of Rufus Sewell, Zen, Pillars of the Earth, Eleventh Hour, etc. If you click on the blue title of any one of the main categories (on the left), it will show you all the threads within that category. If you click on whatever post or thread is listed in the right-hand column, you will only see the most recent post/thread in that category. (Basically, clicking on any type that is shown in blue will take you to whatever thread or post is named.) On the main page, you should see a category called "Members." Click on that word (in blue type), and you will see a listing of the most recent threads. On the upper right part of the page, in the blue bar, is the choice "New thread." Click on that, and you can create a thread and a post to introduce yourself. The Rooftop was the first board I ever joined too. It took me months to figure things out, and I'm still learning new things. You'll pick up skills you wouldn't believe, just for the sake of Rufus.

I think The Rooftop is a handy place for a handful of fans who admires the beautiful hands of someone who seems to have a hand in their lives... Forgive me for this game, I couldn't resist...! It works for me similar to that what you, rueful, megagem, anglophile, kissmekate, joyceinva say about hands and other parts. In the past it happened I fell in love w someone because of his hands . I think our hands express our personality, just like the voice. I believe parts generally reflects the whole. But the hands are just so generous, they tell the whole story...

It's in the right hand corner, in the blue on top. You can start a new thread by clicking New Thread.

Anglophile, don't worry, you'll get the hang of it very soon. If anyother's post hasn't helped you find it, you can let me know here, in this thread, if you want me to start a new thread for you in the Members section.
