Even though the downloadable copy of the film isn't working correctly, the link for downloading the PDF of the script works just fine! I downloaded my copy this weekend. Haven't had a chance to look through it yet.

If you ordered a digital copy, check your email. A new, working link has been sent to anyone who received the broken film download. It worked for me, anyway, and took about 25 minutes to download. I haven't had a chance to watch the film yet--just gave myself a little taste of it. So this is my totally superficial, shallow response: Good lord, Rufus looks handsome. . And as you know from the preview stills, there's a special guest appearance by the morning-after armpit. ;D The movie looks really fun and interesting, so I'm looking forward to watching it asap.

I just finished watching the downloaded HD version of Hotel Noir! I'm not going to give any spoilers, so don't worry about reading further. Film noir is not my favorite genre of film, but I really enjoyed this one. There was quite a bit of sly humor tucked into the script. And the style and overall look of the film is incredible! Black-and-white, super-stylish costuming, and the elegant hotel serving as the set. Everyone smokes elegantly and drinks their booze straight up, poured out of cut crystal decanters. Need I add that Rufus was amazing? I didn't think so. He looks seriously sexy in this role as a hard-boiled detective gone bad. And, yes, we are treated to some amazing armpit acting. Not to mention his 384 perfect chest hairs.

LOL, Kate - I think Judy might have have been referring to a comment I made a few years ago now! ;D (Unless, of course, you have been counting them, Judy? ) (If not, I'm pretty sure it was 334. Soft, manly chest hairs..... )

No spoilers in my review either! But I hope all of you get your dvds soon, so we can really talk. ;D Film noir is not my favorite genre of film, but I really enjoyed this one. I agree with everything Judy said in her excellent summary! Except I do like film noir, and this one ranks up there with some of my favorite oldies. To me, the sly, sometimes a little twisted, humor that Judy mentioned is key to its success. Very entertaining. I also thought the script made some great observations about human behavior. Rufus was fantastic. I rewound a couple scenes just to rewatch his subtle expressions. When someone else is talking, he is such a great listener. But don't worry, he talks too. ;D , does he do a lot of talking in this one! It's a treat for those of us who like the sound of his voice. (I believe that's everyone here, right?)
