I'm in the middle of the epic Coast of Utopia marathon at Lincoln Center (Voyage down, Shipwreck and Salvage to go... Ethan Hawke is SO CUTE!!!!! *sigh*) and here's my thought of the day:
Rock 'n' Roll merchandise!
You can buy Utopia t-shirts. I would so buy an RnR t-shirt!

I'm sure there will be all sorts of it since Stoppard seems to be quite the vogue these days. You'll probably be able to buy everything from coffee mugs to mouse mats. I can just see poor Roof at the stage door laboriously autographing 14.95 souvenir programs for the ladies who lunch so they can prove they once touched greatness...

Review of RnR in PragueRufie mention: Rock ’n’ Roll’s first Jan, Rufus Sewell, is a hard act to follow, and Prachař, unfortunately, doesn’t quite make the grade. Where Sewell’s Jan carried the early maturity of a grown public-school boy, Prachař plays the character more boyishly — calculatedly so, with little “winning” physical bits that seem ill-suited for the intellectual Jan.

Uke: It's a long established fact that you're the queen of google. I'm not sure how you've missed it. Now if you could find Rufus' speech in it's entirty... "Off B'way" I like the sound of that on one level, small, intimate, a good way to see Rock 'n' Roll. On another I wonder what that might do to Rufus' chance of winning a Tony... hum. I do so want him to win the Tony next year. I think it would be fabulous for his career and people would be crawling out of the woodwork to offer him the jobs he wants.

"Off B'way" I like the sound of that on one level, small, intimate, a good way to see Rock 'n' Roll. I'm not sure whether you are just pondering or whether you misread Pete's words. He says 'off to Broadway', not off-Broadway. I would love a small theatre for RnR though.

Misread it. Should have known it was too good to be true. Never put something in the appropriate venue when you can slam it into a huge sprawling space that seats 1000 + people. That said, maybe they will pick one of the smaller theatres like the Booth. Wherever they do it, it's bound to be bigger than the Duke of York which seating 640 would be a small B'way house. I'm trying to think if there is even one in that range... hummm We get to see Rock 'n' Roll again! YAY! Is it autumn yet?
