Please help me girls!!! I discovered Rufus only a week ago after watching EH (which is finally on here), and am now in the hopeless "i need to watch everything he's ever been in & think about nothing else" phase, which i'm sure you all understand!!! Now i have a perfectly nice husband ( who coincidentally has a mop of curly black hair & hazel eyes) & a very busy life which has been suffering while i can do nothing else but watch Roof. My husband is actually away at the moment so i've been living on red wine, chocolate & DVD's for days. I read the thread on dreams about Rufus and have to add that i am getting very little sleep at the moment & i don't know what my dreams are about exactly, but i know that it's him inhabiting them!!! Sounds tragic doesn't it!!! I know this phase will pass but i'm so happy to have found a group of like minded girls that i can talk to, coz my other friends all think i'm crazy!!!! Anyhow, i thought i'd take my cue from fellow Aussie, quoll, and go with numbat, a shy native marsupial found only in the south west corner of Western Australia, just like me!!! Please tell me i'm not crazy - do you think i'll recover or is there no excape from the love of Roof!!!

Welcome, welcome, numbat! Now take a deep, cleansing breath....let it out....now another....it's going to be ok. You have come to the right place. You are among friends. You are definitely not crazy. How can it be crazy to admire the talents of such an incredibly gifted actor? How can it be crazy to be charmed by the wit, intelligence, and grace he reveals in interviews? How can it be crazy to appreciate the unbelievable beauty given to him by God (or nature, if you prefer)? Just embrace the Rufitis infection you have and you'll be fine. It's chronic, but not terminal!

G'day Numbat! You have no idea how wonderful it is to see a newby Aussie on the board. Isnt it a pain that it looks as if 9 are dropping EH - dont know if they have moved nights or dropped it altogether in favour of the missing persons show. Bah bl**dy humbug I say!!!
We in Aus dont get enough of the lad, full stop (you did know that he "is" an Aussie, didnt you? I believe he may even have an Aussie passport - I drove through his ancestral "home", Sutton Forest, this weekend). Anyway, some of us slightly more insane ones do manage the occasional trip back to UK when he ventures out onto the London stage (told the folks I was going home to visit them, yeah, right!) I agree with Famke - Rufus IS the therapy!!! Hope the wine and choc was up to standard:lol

Hi numbat!
No, there is no escape from Rufus....as GE2 says, he has you now! You are in extremely good company so it doesn't matter what you say or how you express your feelings for him, we all understand...I have been afflicted with the man for a long time but I had no place to express myself until I came across this wonderful site and lovely people. Enjoy yourself!!

Thankyou everyone - i feel better already!!! It's fantastic to know i'm actually completely normal and i don't NEED to get over this Roofie obsession because it's a GOOD THING!!! ;D Thankyou Famke for that beautiful photo - it's on my screensaver now. I'm so excited bcoz i have all these fantastic movies & tv shows to catch up on, although i'm having trouble with Shrew - i've had it for three days and have watched it many, many times. Petruchio is simply adorable and just so naughty & sexy!!! I'll be watching Tristan & Isolde tonight and also Dark City if i can stay awake after the red wine (quoll - a very nice Margaret River Shiraz Grenache tonight). Have watched Vinyan, Illuminata, The Illusionist, The Holiday, Shrew, Amazing Grace and yes even Zorro!!! What should i watch next??? And quoll, i have been checking TV Guides since Monday but can find no trace of EH this week. If f***ing Channel Nine have ditched it after only 3 episodes we will be mighty pissed!!! And i am so very impressed that you've been to the UK to watch Rufus on stage - i have family there too so i must be able to swing something next time!!! Thank you all for your kind words. It's nice to be in Roofie heaven with those who understand xxx

Hi numbat, have you seen The Woodlanders? Rufus is so lovely in that. Do you know the Thomas Hardy story? I am going to watch A Man of No Importance tonight, it aired on UK TV in the early hours of this morning. He's a bus driver in it and so young!! made in 1994 also starring Albert Finney. If you ever can, get hold of Gone To Seed and see what I first saw all those years ago (1993), he is beautiful!!! It's a TV series that aired in UK back then. When I first saw him, I was a goner!!! Happy viewing!

Thanks for those suggestions - i'm sure i can get my hands on a Knights Tale easily enough (am embarassed to say that i have never watched it before because of Heath Ledger, despite coming from the same town!!!), but might have to hit Amazon UK for The Woodlanders and others. I can see my Visa taking a hammering soon BTW, am still sobbing from Tristan & Isolde last night - i think i might need to go & find the thread and have a babble on there. All i can say at the moment is ........ Marke ..............

Please do give us your review of Tristan in the thread. We love to hear new perspectives on how perfect Marke is and how utterly incompetent miscast James Franco is. (But don't hesitate to tell us if you like Franco/Tristan. You won't be ejected. ) Myself, I would also recommend Uncorked/At Satchem Farm/Higher Love (sorry I don't know which title is used in Australia). It was very cute, and it is a rare role where Rufus plays someone who is sweet and sort of clueless. He was fabulous in it! Also, I was forced by some powerful women on this board to get In a Savage Land, and I liked it a lot. I mean, I really had to think about its meaning and got all analytical about it, but I've watched it three times in a couple months, so you know I did love it and the character he played.

Ok, have ordered everything i can get my hands on from Amazon UK & some DVD retailers here. Good job Hubby never looks at the Visa statement or he'd have a fit (although he's been reaping the benefits of my Roofie lust since he arrived back from his trip so i think he should be sending Roof a thankyou note, not complaining about an itty bitty bill for 24 dvds!!!) Haven't been able to get my hands on In a Savage Land though. Amazon lists it as no longer available from manufacturer & while Amazon US has a few 2nd hand copies i'm not sure if my multi region player does NTSC as well as PAL. I found a copy on ebay but they wanted nearly US$70 for it - guess i'll just have to keep my eye out. While i was searching for Savage Land i came across a really interesting interview (which i expect most of you have read) in which Rufus said that he had a highwayman ancestor who was sent to Australia as a convict in 1830 - so in fact he's more of an Aussie than me - how about you quoll - do your roots go back that far??? Shows that that cheeky larrikin streak in Roof is obviously genetic - i can just imagine him as a bushranger - now that's a role he hasn't played yet i don't think!!! ;D

That's why that sort of thing is on a "need to know" basis. ROFLMAO!
