Crossing my fingers that there is a lot of time given to the shoot-out with Burr & everything that lead up to it. This could be the start of something really good for Rufus. From what I've seen there is everything to be gained from being in an HBO production. I hope this is as good as Deadwood & Rome, & the Sopranos, & I can't wait!

But isn't that just going to be the worst thing about finding out about this now, Britfan? We have got such a looooooong wait to see the thing!

Nah when you get to be my age time really flies!!!! I can see it now....a Golden Globe just like Mirren & Ian. We know he can do it. I just pray the part is big enough to showcase his abilities for a lot of people who may still not know who he is! I think I have actually squeeeed for the very first time! ;D

I'm really excited about the Hamilton role too. He does sound like an interesting historical personality to portray. I'm afraid I don't recall a great deal about him other than the duel with Burr. Guess I'll need to do some reading before the movie comes out.
A far as Downloading Nancy goes I think the premise of the movie sounds intriguing, but not the role of the husband in the "passionless marriage" Ugh. Now the killer turned boyfriend that she meets on the the S & M site, that's a the role I'd like to see Rufus take on.....I don't think he sounds like a villain per say.......

This poor little antipodean will be relying on the good will of her US friends for any glimpse of what looks like a very US market production - somehow cant see it transferring much out of the US. I dont think it would rate highly on the Aussie market for instance (modern gangster yes but dry US history even with affairs and duels, probably not!). Whose cable sub can I subscribe to now to ensure a <ahem> precis or similar?

I'm wondering if we might be completely on the wrong trail about this Regina thing and maybe they are just shooting some of the mini there: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regina,_Saskatchewan In these pictures at least, it reminds me quite a bit of New England. Just a thought. And don't worry quoll, we will make sure you don't miss a bit of John Adams.

I cannot be more excited about the John Adams mini and I hope it will be perfectly written and wonderfully acted and long, long, loooongg! However, my one worry, wasn't Hamilton a political foe of John Adams?? I just hope the writing won't turn Hamilton into the villain of the piece.
After reading his bio on wiki, he reminds me a bit of Thomas Clarkson, actually.

Yes I thought of Thomas Clarkson a bit when I read it as well, but Hamilton had a very checkered past and was in no way a religious zealot. He was quite a colourful fellow apparently. Which of course is perfect for Rufus to seize the bit and run madly off with the entire mini while everyone else is standing around scratching their head and wondering what he's up to.
Trust in the power of the Roof, Uke. He said he was never going to do a villain again. And he's read the script. ;D

Trust in the power of the Roof, Uke. He said he was never going to do a villain again. And he's read the script. ;D I was almost waiting there for you to say "Use the Force, UKE!" Sorry. Hamilton was anything but a villain. Well, depending on whether or not you were Burr, Adams or Jefferson, but never mind that. ;D Seriously though, he was a favorite of one of my professors, who felt that his contribution to the success of the new US Govt. was sorely underated. Then there is the rumour that his enemies put that clause in the Constitution that the President had to be born on US soil to prevent him from being able to ever run for president, but that's another story. LOL.

Fake snow indeed! Come up to Boston & I'll show you some real snow. Rai HBO starts filming miniseries at Colonial Williamsburg Associated Press Feb 22, 2007 WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - John Adams in an SUV? An HBO miniseries about the second U.S. president began filming Thursday in Colonial Williamsburg, where scenes will be shot off and on through May. Cast members started arriving before 11 a.m., and actor Paul Giamatti, who portrays Adams, was spotted getting into a black SUV, the Daily Press of Newport News reported on its Web site. He was not in costume. Dozens of production crewmembers were at work in the outer yard of the Gaol (an English spelling for jail) at the restored 18th-century capital of Virginia. The yard was blasted with fake snow and ice to make it look like Boston; Virginia beat out Adams' home state of Massachusetts for the miniseries. The crew was to shoot a scene in which Adams visits imprisoned British soldiers after the Boston Massacre. Adams was their defense attorney. More than 100 extras were expected to be involved in another scene, a town meeting at Bruton Parish Church. Visitors are welcome to watch the filming, as long as they don't interfere, said Tom Shrout, Colonial Williamsburg spokesman. Officials are trying to keep the Historic Area as accessible as possible to the public during the filming, he added.

That's great for all of you living near there! I would love to just watch the filming (not be an extra) of any movie!
I see this is to be a 7-hour mini-series! How cool is that? It won't be out for another year, but the way my life goes, it will be here before we know it!

Do I see a shave head or is that my imagination? Can we hope, the other shaved head lovers and I? Thanks Rai! That was a terrific little find.

The shaved head was my thought too, Maxx. If you look to the left on that page, there is a still photo of Paul G with the Adams wig. Looks very authentic. And he looks fat! Padding or DiNiro method acting?
