Yeah, I noticed it right away in Amazing Grace--the dinner party scene when I could see Ioan sneaking peeks at Roof and sighing ever so slightly. I didn't want to say anything since we aren't supposed to talk about Rufus' personal life here.

Angel, Ioan is Ioan Gruffudd, who played William Wilberforce in "Amazing Grace." If you haven't seen that yet, he also played Horatio Hornblower, which is where I first saw him.

I've ordered David McCullough's bio of John Adams upon which the miniseries is based.

Here is a caption beneath a picture of Alexander Hamilton:

Alexander Hamilton of New York is a portrait by John Trumbull (I'll try to scan this tomorrow and put it up since it's an interesting portrait and one I've never seen before.) As Washington's brilliant Secretary of the Treasury, Hamilton had at first greatly impressed Adams but later betrayed him. To Abigail Adams, Hamilton was a dangerous man, "another Bonaparte."

A fascinating role.

It's founding fathers' day for HBO miniseries

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Actors Tom Wilkinson and David Morse will join the cast of the HBO miniseries "John Adams," which stars Paul Giamatti as the second U.S. president.

Wilkinson will play Benjamin Franklin, and Morse George Washington in the seven-hour miniseries, which is slated to premiere in 2008.

Based on David McCullough's Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, the miniseries will chronicle the first 50 years of the American republic. It will be told through the eyes of Adams' wife, Abigail (Laura Linney).

Wilkinson and Morse join the previously cast Stephen Dillane as Thomas Jefferson, Danny Huston as Samuel Adams, Rufus Sewell as Alexander Hamilton, Justin Theroux as John Hancock and Guy Henry as Jonathan Sewall.

Production is scheduled to begin shortly, with most of the filming taking place in Colonial Williamsburg, Va. Tom Hanks will serve as an executive producer.

Wilkinson's recent credits include "Batman Begins" and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose." He received an Oscar nomination for 2001's "In the Bedroom." Morse, who recently had a recurring role on Fox's "House," appears in "Disturbia," which opens in theaters April 13.

I agree - he will be very good as Washington. Washington was very tall (unusually tall for the times) and Morse is 6'4''. And Washington was only 44 at the time of the Revolution, so a younger actor was needed for the part.

I'm currently listening to the audio while driving home from work each day. Twenty minutes of driving x 25 disks = I might be done by the time the series is broadcast. ;D

I love David Morse! How odd that they are still adding actors and they've already started filming........but then what do I know about making films? LOL

So, now that Ruf has completed DN...........do we know if he's on his way to Virginia? I hope he has a few days rest first!

Especially looking for Caucasian young men age 15 to 40s who are slim or have a fit build. Must be able to fit period soldier & militia clothing that is not larger than a 46 Jacket and a 38 waist. Hair and facial hair may need to be altered if you are selected

Also looking for men age 30 to 50 to portray Philadelphia delegate types.

We are fitting to period clothing, so we are looking for small to standard size men.

WOMEN
All types to portray 18th century townspeople. Especially looking for women who are size 14 and smaller to fit period clothing. No streaked hair or artificial nails.

CHILDREN & TEENS

All ages, with slim body types.

SPECIAL TYPES

Young male amputees (age 13 to 35) to portray wounded battlefield soldiers.
Native American males, tall physically fit types to portray Caughnawaga Indians.
Men & Women who have special 18th century gaming, dancing, or musical instrument skills.
Blacksmith, Re-enactment skills, Colonial skills
Spanish Descent Attractive men & women
