HBO showed a very brief promo clip for JA last night just before The Sopranos' season premiere. That's a sweet spot for an advert.
Just a head shot of Laura Linney as Abigail and a scene with Paul G. in wig with a bunch of others. No Alexander Hamilton.

Does anyone know the latest, or where to even find info on where/when Rufus will be shooting his parts?? I did read that most filming will be inside (boo hoo) I have an Aunt that lives in Virginia and am contemplating some serious begging of her...She used to be a tour guide in DC, so maybe checking out a film shoot will be something she wouldn't mind doing. Any specific info would be really appreciated, because I think she may be more willing to help if I can give her concrete time/places. She's a very classy lady, and would be charming in the asking. She's very tall and could shoot pictures above the fan throng if necessary, hee hee. Would the fact that hubby was a big time Navy man at the pentagon, or that her son works for the (formerly called) FBI help?? LOL!! Probably not, but if she could use those connections, that would be pulling out all the stops! And in my funny little world, doing that to get an autographed glossy of Ruf, or best yet some pictures with him would be worth it! Just I need to get myself there for those pic to be truly happy!! Oh, and I'd love to buy him a latte and have a chat.

PBS (US Public Broadcasting) is airing a piece on Alexander Hamiltion this month on "This American Experience." It aired for the first time last night but will be repeated throughout the month of May. There are some good videos on the program on the PBS website as well as the schedule. After Wednesday, you can view the program online on the website. www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/hamilton/G xo

I watched a lot of that PBS special. So basically John Adams and Hamilton hated eachothers guts.

I watched a lot of that PBS special. So basically John Adams and Hamilton hated eachothers guts. Oh, absolutely. I thought someone mentioned that when we learned Ruf would be playing Hamilton. Oh, and that Jefferson hated him (they didn't say in the show, but wasn't it Hamilton who drug up the stuff about Jefferson's slave mistress?) And of course Burr wasn't fond of him either. Although, the bio reminded me that everyone seemed to hate Hamilton, except Georgre Washington! LOL. I'll have to say, watching the bio, I was a bit shocked to find out I was more of a Hamiltonian than I'd ever suspected! My 12th grade political science teacher would be so proud (he was a big Hamilton fan.)

wait one second...
Adams didn't start out hating Hamilton. He admired him at first. It wasn't quite so cut and dried.

My 12th grade political science teacher would be so proud (he was a big Hamilton fan.) My daughter, Kelly, would be proud, too. She got her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York City (formerly King's College - Hamilton's college) where they revere him and have a statue of him on the campus green. G xo

But I have a feeling they'll cover the hating part in the mini more, don't you? Conflict, conflict, you know. Seriously, after seeing the bio last night, I'm thinking more than ever how interesting it would be to see a mini about Hamilton. I mean, what a fascinating story that would be, about a man who initially inspires admiration in others, but eventually drives them all away (justly or unjustly.) Just fascinating. Shakespeare would've loved Hamilton.

I feel the same way, especially since Rufus said it was quite a small part so I wonder how much time there is for development there.

Based on his comment and how fast he left Virginia, I presumed that the part was the equivalent to that of Thomas Clarkson the other historical character he sparked our interest in by his portrayal.

Well even a remarkable and fantastic performance of a small role is better than what we get in most films these days! And it IS Rufus!!!!! I would imagine we will all love what he does with this character, no matter how much or how little he is in it!

Though I fear the Hamilton role will be even smaller. I'm sure that Rufus will do more with that small part that most other actors could even envision! I almost feel sorry for the other actors in his few scenes, almost. ;D
