... and you want to know why?  Because I saw that Rufus Sewell had been cast in an upcoming mini-series of the book! And now, as I'm reading about Tom Builder, I'm picturing Rufus in the role. I cannot imagine any actor who would be able to do justice to that role but Rufus. Just wanted to introduce myself and say "Howdy" to my fellow Rufus fans! Judy in Houston |

Hi judypatooty and welcome to the wonderful world of Rufus heaven!!! You are in great company. Yes, Rufus as Tom Builder...I have read up on this character and know the story basically. I have no doubt that he will be superb but in my opinion, Rufus is exceptional no matter what role he plays. Enjoy the board, there is loads to see and read!!

Hi Judy, welcome to the fun!!!!  I'm reading Pillars of the Earth too and like you am really enjoying it. Being able to picture every scene with Roof in it with his particular way of looking (with his eyes i mean) & speaking is an absolute joy isn't it!!! I only hope the filmakers do justice to OUR imaginations!!!  And i hope he looks like this:  but i'd imagine he'd have a fuller beard. Oh and try to humour wichi, she lives in a little world all her own!!!!  |

I would also be quite happy if Tom Builder manages to look like Lord Marke (nice picture choices, ladies). Or Count Adhemar. Or Agamemnon. Or Rufus Sewell, basically. Don't mind wichi and numbat. They're rambunctious but they'll calm down once they realize Rufus is already quite happy with me. Aren't you Rufus dear? They certainly do look like Petruchios jeans, I recognise the knees!! Oh his hands are gorgeous aren't they? And why is this thread so wide?!!! Can someone please alter the size of that pic of Ruf in the chair, I can't be bothered to keep scrolling from side to side!!!
