Hi again,
I clicked on "link to post", but I'm not sure what that does(whether it adds in your original message) but Maxx, no problem - link away!
I will try to get to the next bits ASAP (a desert island would come in handy right now - even more since we have snow up to the eyeballs ;D)

Hi,
I hope to get the newer blog entries up soon - still no mention of Roof, but hey...
This is one bit from the recent stuff that might be a bit more broadly interesting:
"The other good news comes from an important publisher; "les Editions de la Martinière" want to publish a book about "Vinyan", illustrated with Marcel Hartmann's sublime photos. Elisabeth Quin [sic], who was present during the filming will be writing some text and interpreting the selected images. I'm happy about this. Firstly because "les Editions de la Martinière" are an inportant reference for those who love beautiful books about the cinema. Secondly because the book will come out a bit before the release of the film and will be a great promotional tool. We are supposed to meet with them again in a few weeks."
Since he's mentioned an August release for the film perhaps the book will come out in June or July...

Hi all,
I'm a couple of entries behind on the Vinyan blog - du Welz is mainly going on about trying to avoid a "16" rating (not sure how the rating system works in Europe, maybe that means over 16).
But - the latest entry has a HUGE spoiler - so if you don't wanna know, don't go - and I'm going to think about how to (not) present it in the translation.
:-( and sigh is all I'm going to say.
Seems like Emmanuelle will be on the poster (now why is that not a surprise? :-))

Eeek - I thought that would be a frown but instead it looks like I'm happy with the spoiler... let me make this perfectly clear (heh heh) - it is not good news!

Thanks for the spoiler warning, Renata. I hate spoilers!! Now I won't go to Fabrice's blog anymore. I trust you to protect me. Rai p.s. the emoticons are all labeled wrong, so if you don't preview your message you may be surprised

I've read the laughable Google automatic translations of this blog, so thank you so much, Renata, for the ones that make sense! " After seeing "Vinyan", "Calvaire" doesn't exist anymore, it's already swept away...". !! I've read the spoiler, too.

According to this Google translation of Fabrice du Welz's blog for today ( tinyurl), Vinyan won't be shown at the Cannes Film Festival next month. Drat, drat, drat!! I was really hoping it would be. Like he says, Venice probably?

Hi, I have finally updated the translation of the Vinyan blog and updated the file here: www.geocities.com/rufian_ren/vinyan_blog.htmlCannes is definitely out. The reference to Venice is rather off-hand, so let's hope it comes to something. It seems du Welz did not submit the film to the "Semaine de la Critique" (Critic's Week), which is where he had had luck with his first film "Calvaire" - not sure that would have made any difference. So fingers crossed for Venice! Renata
