Well i'm excited anyway Mark Webber, Australian Formula 1 driver and all round super spunky action man, has just won the German Grand Prix!!! It's exciting for us because it's the first win by an Aussie driver for 27 YEARS (and me especially because i love F1 - hot men, sexy cars, crashes, speed, enormous bottles of champagne - what's not to love ) I tried to put a photo in because he is extra sexy (you know the drill - tall, dark hair, hazel eyes, chiselled face - just the type that we love ) but i can't get it to work. Oh well, you can go back to whatever you were doing now ;D

numbat, congrats for... for nothing, really, you havent done anything but cheer! good to see different names on the podium lately. for years, it looked like there was only one german competing. and, this guy is cute, but not as cute as... ah... this is useless. we all know, no need to spell it out.

Awwwww thanks Ellie, you are much more computer literate than me obviously!!!! The only trouble with being with an F1 man is i bet he would never let you drive!!! (and for the sake of GE2's sanity, we won't start dicussing gear sticks and knobs will we!!!)
This story did headline all of our news bulletins this morning - who cares about world events when we won a car race, LOL!!!!
And tipou, of course i would never for a moment suggest that Mark is as cute as our darling Rufus........... (although he does look mighty fine in his skin tight racing gear, drenched in champagne, and can throw a 600kg car around a track at 250kph!!!)

I didn't find a picture with champagne for you numbat... Hope you like this one! I wonder why can't we have a guy like this instead of Fernando Alonso... (you lucky Australians)

Ofelia!!!! Thankyou my darling - now THAT'S what i'm talking about (poor Fernando, LOL) Yeah, yeah - if i'm so damn cute why do they just keep on and on about that Rufus bloke here? He doesn't look like Action Man, or drive really fast - what do i have to do to compete?? I bet they just want to see my bare ass!!!

Yes, i know i should have been watching Charlie, but it is that second Sunday night (yes Formula 1 night!!!) so i've been watching The European GP from Valencia. No my boy Mark Webber didn't win, no he didn't even finish, but no he's not dead either despite this (clip is only 46sec long and worth watching - especially the last view of the crash from inside Mark's car!): www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJh6A-5CaOY&feature=player_embeddedI remember sitting and watching my then favourite driver Ayrton Senna die on May 1 1994 in the San Marino Grand Prix, and i honestly thought i was watching a repeat of that today. Fortunately the safety of the cars is so much better today and Mark got out of that car and walked away. But i still cried. Thanks for humouring me (as usual). I'm off to bed now.

Hi Numbat!
I watched the European GP in Valencia too and I saw the crash also. In the first moment I was just shocked (I saw the crash of Ayrton Senna then too). It was nearly a rollover but fortunately he just walked away a few minutes later. Unbelievable!
I was happy because the german driver Sebastian Vettel won and I also like Jenson Button who got on the third place.
Soon after the race I started watching the soccer worldchampionship in South Africa. Germany against England. And Germany won also. What a great day for us. Party all over the land.

Numbat - formula 1 have blocked that clip on You tube. Miserable sods. Pleased Mark is ok though. I have not watched any motor racing since Senna hit that wall.
and Boo Hoo - Germany knocked England out of the world cup. My hubby has gone into mourning. Things may improve if Germany kick Argentina's butts in the next game though. Mr Hand of God can not win under any circumstances !

Sorry they took down the clip - but i've found some photos; Mark is in the "flying through the air upside down car" - because red bull really does give you wings!! This is the view from the onboard camera - the blue stuff is the sky! And here he is walking away after the car landed upside down, flipped again and then slammed into the wall and here's a GIF of the crash (believe me - it wasn't really this fast. It was excruciatingly, mind blowingly slow in real life as you waited to see if he was going to come out of this alive!!) Congratulations to Germany - Seb Vettel & the world cup team!! Commiserations to the UK and to us - No GP wins and both out of the WC thanks to Germany!!! What a night! ;D

Now numbat's giffing too !
It's a job to tell one end of the car from the other - what a lucky escape. At moments like those, losing suddenly pales into insignificance & surviving is what counts !
