Click here.First a scene setter, then Rufus is getting off the set while a dangerous stunt takes place : While one corner of the huge market now is the scene of gruesome atrocities, buzzing in the other alone a bear in front of him, waiting in a cage on his next assignment. I've the announcement of the emergency? Not run away, "calling out the animal trainer:" Run!
........
Rufus Sewell ( "Eleventh Hour", from 19.09. Saturdays, 21.15 clock, kabel eins), which was already as an opponent of Heath Ledger in "A Knight's Tale" romp in the jousts, my dear leaves the scene of the dangerous stunt. "I will not die on the set," he laughs. "I'd rather drink a cup of tea in an air conditioned tent." Vernünftig. Reasonable. Sewell, the chief builder builder Tom embodies, however, had specially designed for shooting a stonemason "internship". A piece of the bear rises up behind Tom's famous cathedral for nine yards in the air. However, no one wants to continue building.
Very wise, Rufus! (Sounds like he had to do a stonemason's course, too)

Another great find GE2 - thanks!!!!! ;D We obviously won't include spoilers here, but those people who have read the book will know EXACTLY what scene is being filmed here - clearly they haven't left out ALL of Tom's crucial scenes!!!! I noticed on TPOTE website, there was a press release dated 17 Aug which announced that there were halfway through the 110 day filming program - shame they are that far through and STILL haven't given us any new photos on their site, grrrrrrr.

My God that translation was hysterical. Just finished the book, truly loved it and savored every page. Didn't want it to end, I'm even more interested in how it translates to the small screen. Mini series indeed, each character is so wonderfully written. It transports you back in time.

Here's another translation of the Rufus bit:
Rufus Sewell ("Eleventh Hour"), who was already allowed to have a romp jousting as Heath Ledger's opponent "A Knight's Tale" prefers to leave the dangerous scenes to the stuntman. "I don't want to die on set", he laughs, "I'd rather drink a cup of tea in an air-conditioned tent." Sensible man. Sewell, who plays the head builder Tom, had to a complete stonemason's "apprenticeship" before filming [Renata thinks: dang! the ex-better half, a stone sculptor who also worked on restoring a cathedral, could have provided his training - maybe at my house ;D]
And this is another snip, from an article in the same paper plugging Eleventh Hour:
Rufus Sewell, who resembles a young Jeff Goldblum, has not had anything to do with science before this. "I guess I just have the face of a scientist, so people believe me in the part - and assume that I know everything about science."
Cheers,
Renata

Thank you, Renata, for the proper translation! ( Now we just need to know what Dreamer said in response! ) And I think that's the first time we've heard Rufus compared in looks to Jeff Goldblum! Hair? Maybe. Nose? Maybe. The rest? Nah.

Well, sorry, I said Renata's ex-better half would be an excellent master, so Rufus could have his training in Italy for my happiness and moreover I could meet her if she also had a vacancy here. ;D You should see the Italian translation!!! And I don't know how some people can do that kind of comparation!

Jeff Goldblum, he frightens me, he looks so serious all the time, but maybe the hair but only if viewed with one eye closed.

GE2,
Great find... thanks!!!! I do not see any resemblance between Rufus and J. Goldblum. Goldblum's features are hard and thick. Our Ruf's face is beautifully sculpted and full of class and striking good looks. And no, I am not prejudiced. I am very intelligent and have an eye for detail.

Another German article . Lots of photos, many we've seen. A couple are new. If you click on any of the photos, it will give you a row of numbers to click on and you'll get all the photos available in the article And here is 'some' translation: If a medieval village is put by a horde/hurdle rider attacked and in fire, it is advisable for unarmed observers to remain in the background. As soon as the near-galloping Schlachtrösser leaves the earth hereditaryeven, anyway the natural escape instinct triumphs over the curiosity. The little confidence-arousing gentlemen in the saddle are only Stuntmen and privately certainly completely umgänglich, yet is probably not with them well cherries at present eat. The Hungarian sun burns merciless on the set. The riders in their Wollmänteln and arms are probably roasted straight. CUT! The fire-brigade runs in the picture and saves the blazing market conditions. , Two further sides would now thus be in the box - from 1.100. Proud 110 turning days were " for the 40 million dollar expensive TV-filming by Ken Folletts world best-seller; The columns of the Erde" estimated. The result, which will have to be seen 2010 as eight-hour four-divisors with Sat.1, might become monumental. The book, which appeared approximately two decades ago, is already legendary. " The columns of the Erde" into 30 languages published, more to than 14 million expenditures went world-wide over the counters. In England the tome was selected under the 100 best books. And also in this country the read rats are Follett fans. With " Our Besten" (Second Channel of German Television) the historical novel reached place three of the most popular books - behind " The master of the Ringe" and the Bible. Follett created a binding, dragging along Epos over love, hate, plots, force, wars, religion and lust for power in medieval England. " Hauptperson" is an enormous cathedral, whose building itself as central theme by the book spinnt and which and fates of the figures links lives with one another. Outstanding filming off actually. But monumental history was not adapted so far ever. Munich the production company tandem Communications (" The ring of the Nibelungen" , " Town center Raiders" draws;), MUSE entertainment and Scott Free of film (" of; Gladiator" - Producer Ridley Scott and brother Tony Scott) dared themselves now however to the giant task. Also German Free TV is involved in the large-scale project as Koproduzent. Into numerous further countries the filming was already sold. Over eight years tandem worked on it, the rights received for the best-seller too, explains manager Rola farmer, which is convinced, " that this unbelievably varied history with elements by drama, sensuality and pathos only over the medium television are passed on correctly kann." Also one could finally convince Ken Follett. The benediction of the author is the film-creative (film script: John Pielmeier) now safe: " I am convinced that they produce the generation-spreading action of history in the best way with their creative approach to my novel werden." 40 million dollar that will cost to pageant, which is turned still to at the end of November in Hungary, close Budapest, and Austria. Much money, but Peanuts for a Hollywood producer. Only quite if the final product should be eight hours long and at the same time qualitatively high-quality. With Sergio Mimica Gezzan one found however a producer, which can lift such a project, also arduous 110 turning days long. The 52-Jährige worked over years as a first Regieassistent for Steven Spielberg, turned with it among other things " Schindlers Liste" and " The soldier James Ryan". Also the Cast of the ambitious GermanCanadian Koproduktion can be able to be seen: Among other things Donald Sutherland, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell became (" Knight from Leidenschaft"), Matthew Macfadyen (" Frost/Nixon" , Sheriff of Nottingham in Ridley Scotts " Robin Hood" , 2010), Hayley Atwell, Natalia Wörner, Götz Otto and Anatole Taubman obligate
