Aaaaah thank you Numbat!
It will be different this year, celebrating Christmas for the first time without either of my parents, but it will be a happy celebration nonetheless. I'll be with my very best friend in all the world ... my big sister, Susan, and her family.
I also hope that each of you on this fantabulously, wonderful message board have the happiest Christmas ever, with your dear family and friends nearby.
With much love and big hugs from Texas, Judy

Christmas is forever, not for just one day. For loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away. Like bells and lights and tinsel, in somebox upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself ... Wishing you a Merry Christmas all the way from Belgium! Linda

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to anyone who celebrates another holiday other than Christmas.I celebrate Christmas myself but don't want to leave anyone out of a holiday greeting. It will be an unusual holiday for me as well, I lost my job this year. I am looking at the bright side and enjoying this time that I wouldn't normally have with my family. It has been rather nice to enjoy the holidays watching Rufus movies whenever I want and not worrying about having to get up early.I hope everyone has a blessed, blessed New Year!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!!!!
I wish to add my best-est wishes to all of you lovely Rufus fans. I have decided to share something very personal with you. And I hope you will understand why it is so important to do so. Early this month I had to have a needle biopsy of my left breast. My mammogram revealed an "area of concern", so I was advised to act quickly. After waiting four of the most nerve racking days of my life I was told that I do not have breast cancer. The diagnosis was "inflamed cells". I have an appointment with a breast surgeon/specialists early next month. I may have to have surgery to remove what the biopsy did not. Or I may have to go on some type of medication...... I'll just have to wait until I see the doctor. This "area of concern" was not found as a lump. I never felt any lump, nor did my doctor. It was discovered by a mammogram. So, why am I sharing this with all of you??? Ladies, GET YOUR MAMMOGRAMS !!!!! Some of you may be too young yet as many doctors advise to start mammograms at age 40. If any of you have breast cancer in your family make sure you speak with your doctor about a plan for you. So far, I have been spared this disease, but many have not. May God bless and comfort them and their families. You all want to live full lives with your family, loved ones and friends. So take care of yourselves. And because this board is dedicated to our fab-u-licious Rufus, may we all be around to admire and support this gloriously talented man for another 30, 40 ++++ years !!!!! May God bless us, everyone !!!!!! Love and Hugs, Diane

I am so glad to hear that you have been spared the big C, how awful for you though you must have had many sleepless nights. God Bless you this Christmas and for many years to come spice. P.S good Luck with whatever the specialist decides.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! It wound down for me about 3:00 today. Two sons are now playing video games on the new TV. Hubby is sound asleep on the sofa. I need to go for a walk after eating my fill of Christmas dinner last night and breakfast today. But the gym is closed and the sidewalks are too snow-packed to walk on. I feel like I gained 20 pounds!!
I'm truly thankful for days like this when my family can all be together, healthy and happy!
Here's to a happy and safe New Year's!! XXOO

Hi all! Reporting in on Christmas Day from central Texas. It's a gorgeous blue-sky day in the mid-50s (F / 13ish C) here and we're having a wonderful day. A lot of laughter, plenty of good presents under the tree, more than enough bottles of wine, some Christmas music on the stereo, and a delicious Christmas dinner coming up in couple of hours. My sister and I have spent the afternoon in the kitchen putting together the most amazing cake ... at least we hope it will be amazing. Chocolate-Citrus Cake with Candied Oranges ... Here's the recipe ... find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1940908Tomorrow will be shopping, a walk around our old college campus, munching on the turkey that my brother-in-law is smoking in the backyard right now, and maybe a trip to the cinema to see Invictus. I hope everyone else is having a wonderful day today!
