Hello everyone, fell head over heels for Rufus while watching him in the scene on the bridge with Tristan in Tristan and Isolde. (Check out another Rufus-lover on the Flixchatter blog. There are only a few, hard-to-obtain movies and TV of him I haven't seen, and am really looking forward to all his new projects – POTE, Zen and The Tourist. Glad to finally be "officially" here.  |

Hey prariegirl!!! We're glad you're "officially" here too!!! All Rufus lovers should be here. I saw that flixchatter blog and your video before i saw you were here, and was thinking it was fantastic to see other people having the same view as us!! You might have already checked out our long ramblings on the Tristan & Isolde thread so i'm sure you already know our opinions on it!!! I also saw your comment the other day about dream pairings: I know judypatooty would agree with you as Gerard is one of her faves too, and i'd like to see as well. It did make me chuckle a little bit when i read it - I assume you didn't mean that the love and steamy sex would be between the two of them!!! (i'm hoping that was just my warped interpretation!!! On the other hand.............  ) So here's a little welcome pressie for you:  G: Now do you see her, Roof my friend?
R: I most certainly do
G: Well that's prariegirl, and she likes us both

Hi Prairiegirl! You are definitely in the right place! I read the Flixchatter blog post (via a Google Alert, too!) and agree wholeheartedly that Rufus was the real star of T&I! I've got to laugh at Numbat posting that photo. It was that exact photo that led me here to the Rooftop! I wondered who was that gorgeous man in the photo with Gerry. He looked sort of familiar, but I couldn't place him. So I Googled him and realized that I had seen him in several movies that I had loved ... starting all the way back with Cold Comfort Farm! Of course, back at that point in my life I hadn't hit the weird pre-menopausal fangirl phase that I seem to have entered last year!  However you got here, you are most welcome Prairiegirl! Judy |

Good lord judy!!! I don't think i'm going to be able to cope when i hit that stage - i'm having enough trouble now and i'm fairly sure i'm not there yet!!! Now i do like Gerry and i enjoy (most of) his movies, but isn't Rufus just so much better looking....................  |

Oh that's an easy question, GE2! Rufus of course! Gerry's very nice to look at, he's got that sexy Scottish accent, and from what I've heard he is a genuinely funny and nice human being. Rufus is like the enhanced version of the above! He's better looking, also is a genuinely funny and nice human being, he has a sexy English accent ... AND he's a much better actor. Hands down. It's Rufus. |

Hi everyone, thanks for such a warm welcome. And Numbat, thanks for adding the pix of my dream team! RTM from Flixchatter led me to that one a while ago, but it's been some time since I first laid eyes on it. I think he's been amazing in just about everything I've ever seen him in, especially Taming of the Shrew, Gone to Seed, Cold Comfort Farm, Dangerous Beauty, Woodlanders, In A Savage Land. Will also be checking out your T&I thread. And as for Ruf vs. Gerry? Well, sometimes they are neck and neck, but Ruf always pulls out ahead and wins for me!

Welcome aboard, prairiegirl. You show excellent taste in men and movies. I hope you enjoy yourself here. Gerry Butler is really appealing, but recently he's been cast in some of the most unpleasant "romantic comedies" ever! Not blaming him--it's the writing. I don't know why "sexual tension" has to mean that all the protagonists are so obnoxious and nasty now. (Sorry for the tangent--I just miss going to good movies, and I think he's been so misused.) |
