was fascinated by this thread and the insights from Rufus' childhood friend. Unfortunately, the links are broken. Don't suppose anyone actually copied the whole thing? and do we know what happened to the new board member who had been a friend? 
I think people need to explain themselves when they plan to drop off the face of the earth.
