in my fridge is a bottle of champagne and tomorrow at 14.00 my time - 1pm London time, I will open the bottle and I toast to your health or cheers? That's a fantastic idea stama!! I have a bottle of champagne in my fridge too (what a surprise!!) so i'll crack mine at the same time. I think it will be 8pm my time so that's a very nice time to have a toast!! Judy, if you have your ipad, you should log on and say hi!!! So have a fantastic lunch at Manuela's fantastic restaurant everyone - and make sure you all have a really indulgent dessert. There should be no dieting at the RoofTop lunch!!! (Oh and get a load of this - i told Mr N that today was the day you were all meeting for lunch and he said YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE - I TOLD YOU TO GET A TICKET!!!. Bloody men :

Hahaha, too true stama!!!
I always thought it was a shame when he rescinded that sentiment because it's one that i still hold to be true.
Fortunately i don't think the champagne in our fridge is killing us, so we'll continue to drink it happily won't we!!
Especially today ;D

And i'm having mine now!!!
Have a great lunch girls (and just in case you're wondering what sort of wild times are happening in Oz while you're having lunch in London, i'm drinking champagne and writing my latest story (the "um" rated scene) - and that's a very dangerous combination!!!)
Cheers xxx ;D

Yaaay! It sounds as if most of you were celebrating with us this afternoon! We all raised a glass to toast the rest of the Rooftoppers who couldn't be there. And we (at least *I*) have vowed to do this again next year. (Earlier if Himself gets a stage role in London!) I just returned to my B&B after spending a wonderful last day in London. The weather started out just beautiful this morning and I spent the first half of the day at the British Museum. Loved it! I took several photos which I will upload to my Facebook album later. Then, on to the real highlight of the day ... The first annual Rooftop Meetup! It was a short walk from the museum to Cosmoba, which is a lovely little restaurant located on a quiet side street. When I walked in, I recognized Manuela's husband, Umberto, from the website, so I introduced myself to him. We had a nice chat for a moment until Manuela came in. She's even prettier in person (if that could be possible) and soon we were just chatting away like old friends. She had set up our table right up in the front window so we sat there looking to see if we could spot the rest of the RTers. It wasn't long till we spotted Nicole and a companion, who was soon identified as germanlady (that's not her real name of course!). More hugs and kisses on the cheeks and starting to visit like old friends. Next to arrive was lassie and right on her heels were Nell & Mr. Nell. What a lovely afternoon it was! Lots of laughter (as you'd expect from a group who makes up Cap-its!) and even a surprise phone call from Frannie in Wales!! So I got to say "Hi, y'all" to her and got a laugh. I've got to mention the seriously delicious food. Mmmmmm. Spaghetti carbonara and some killer tiramisu for me! Oh, and Umberto poured us some prosecco to start and some liquors to end. I had limoncello for the first time and loved it. Mr. Nell was impressed that all of us seemed "normal". . Not one of us appeared to be an axe murderer. I was impressed that he (and Umberto) were so tolerant of their wives' passion for Rufus! Unfortunately I can't insert a picture in this post because the pics are all on my iPhone. So if you want to see one photo of us around the table, just go to my Facebook photo album. I noticed that Glo and Martina and Numbat have already tagged the photo! I gave the link to the album earlier in this thread. I'm sure the others will be posting photos here, because everyone had cameras and we took a lot of pictures. Well, I've got to sign off now so I can shower, finish packing and go to bed early. Then it's off to Heathrow early in the morning for a 10 hour flight. . I don't want to go home! But it'll be good to see my kitties and not have to climb 5 flights of stairs to go to bed each night!

Thank you to all the Rooftoppers who made lunch today, had a really fantastic time, what a great bunch of people and as mentioned today, it was great being able to talk freely about Rufus without eyes rolling or people not actually being that interested! Thank you also to everyone that sent messages to us either via the Forum or FB, we remembered you all and toasted a glass of prosecco (or soft drink) to you! ;D It was also lovely to speak with Frannie, who called the restaurant, as we were all able to have a quick chat with her. I, like Judy, do hope that we can meet together on a yearly basis, as it would be lovely to meet more of you! These are some photos of the day - Enjoy! and Judy's surprise...................... Rufus had just walked in!!! ;D Ruthie

I am so glad you had a good time, I know Helen and Alison are great and I'm sure the others are just as nice. I will definitely be there next year Or we might meet earlier if Mr Sewell is in Theatre anytime.

Hahahaha, what a hoot - looks like you all had fun!!!
And i enjoyed being with you & Stama virtually. Perhaps shouldn't have had the whole bottle of champagne though!! (no that's not true - i'm only saying that to appear to be sensible. Which i'm really not!!)
Now we just need Himself to tell us when this fantastic piece of theatre that we've all decided he's going to be in next year will be on, so we can start planning our trips!!! ;D

I really enjoyed our get together yesterday. Is was great to meet you all I think poor hubby must have wondered when we would come up for air What a surprise talking to Frannie on the phone too, that was lovely and then we had the toast to all absent Rooftopers. I'll have to see if I can do anything with the pics Mr Nell took too. The 3rd pic is funny - the one where Rufus is running to join us because he's late ;D Oh and the one where you see Roof's arm and his fork - I think he was choking and asking me to remove my hand Now I know someone got a photo of him - just can't remember who it was. What with all the excitement and all ! Later I enjoyed walk by the Thames and around some of the sights with nicole before my train home. Judy should be boarding the plane by now for the flight home. Have a good journey Judy and the same to nicole and germanlady when you depart tomorrow. I hope it's not raining as much in London as it is here. Can't wait for the next one !
