Hello Bonjour Hola Privet Ciao .... I noticed there are so many of you here from all over the world so the multi-language "hello" seemed appropriate. Sorry if I didn't mention someone's language, a girl can be fluent only so much Anyway, new here! Obviously! Been fan of Rufus's for..well like ever. Amazing TALENT, every character is different, I think he can take any part and make it his. I am not obsessive to the level of staring at his picture all day long (though I woudn't mind) but enough to follow his career and watch everything he's in. Some of the movies aren't that good (movies not his performance of course) but since he has a tendency to steal every scene he's in watching him acting was never a waste of time despite of the overall quality of a movie. Glad to have found this board. Looking forward to explore more (you wrote quite a lot Anyway, jut wanted to say "hi"

Hi Olika - Welcome
You think this is alot to read. We just lost a whole months postings in a server failure. I can't believe how much there was to loose.
Do tell us what your favourite's are if you have some. I know he's brilliant in everything but my particular favouites are TOTS and Charles 2. How about you ? How longs forever and what first got you interested in Rufus's work ? Oh and one last question (nosey aren't I? ) no that wasn't it - have you seen Rufus perform live. This is my burning ambition.

Welcome to the boards, Olika! Thanks for jumping right in and adding some great pictures in the Tom Builder thread. If you've been peeking around here before joining you know how excited we all are for The Pillars of the Earth. When you get a chance, pop into the threads about his work and give us your opinions and reviews.

Hi, Olika, and welcome! As Dippy says, this is a madhouse (as in mad about Rufus, of course, not any other kind of mad.....okay, well, maybe!) but a happy and friendly one, so do join in and have fun exploring. I am not obsessive to the level of staring at his picture all day long Oh, you soon will be. Trust me. I give you until the weekend before it happens.

Thank you so much for a very warm welcome Do tell us what your favourite's are if you have some. I do! I quite liked In savage land and Tristan and Isolde. I much more prefer to see him in a serious drama like those rather than for example in ExOps or The Holiday - there's no room for his talent in films like that... I enjoyed Eleventh Hour very much. So I guess this three. I did not see Charles II, but always wanted to, don't know where to get it, so ..... The problem for me is that i miss it and then it is hard to find. There are dvds or course, I know, but I couldn't find Charles II. When you get a chance, pop into the threads about his work and give us your opinions and reviews. will do for sure the madhouse might be the right word for it and it's exactly what i need.

Olika - I get most of my dvd's from amazon or play.com. I've had some real bargains. I've just checked amazon.co.k and they have new Charles 2 at £2.97 + £1.24 delivery - what a steal for a 2 disc 4 part series plus special features. My hubby paid more to hire a dvd yesterday !

hello olika! charles 2 is my absolute favourite so of course i will urge you to see it. great production all around, spotless cast. if you find no other way, it is available on youtube in 10 min. snippets. painful endeavour, but it is the complete original version. on dvd here in canada, all i could get was a much shortened version with a "corrupted" story line.
