oooh, I do hope so. Stoppard is a good writer (I saw both Arcadia and Rock n Roll) and he has said how talented Rufus is on many occasion. Fingers crossed

If Tom is writing with Rufus in mind (not beyond the realms of possibility), he probably would be offered the role without having to try out for the casting. Yay! Make a wish, everyone - make it happen! On a general note, giving BBC2 a greater share of the drama budget is VERY good news. For those not in the UK, BBC2 is rather more of an experimental channel than BBC1, less of a ratings-chaser and so much more likely to offer the type of roles that Rufus might like to take on. This increase in funding will hopefully mean higher-quality work - and that will attract Rufus as well. Good news, I reckon, even if he doesn't do the Stoppard thing. Thanks for spotting this, HC!

Yesterday I asked it and Rufus told me, it will be the BBC2 production to choose the actors, not Tom, so....

Dreamer, you are really a fount of information bless you but I would think that if Zen is making them happy than there is chance that their casting personnel will take a look at Rufus

Thought it was more like a joke ... however, when seeing "The King's Speech" yesterday I couldn't help wishing a role like that would come along for Rufus very soon!

I saw that Tweet, too, and wondered how much wishful thinking was involved. I'm guessing it's along the lines of another re-Tweet I saw that said something like, "I guess now would be a good time to send my British, British, BRITISH script to Hollywood for optioning?" It was definitely a British sweep last night!
