For all of the non-metric people in the world, 10x15cm is approx 4x6 inches (hehehe). Sorry for laughing but there's just something about inches that makes me . I generally only understand metric measurements but for some reason in my mind, babies are always measured in pounds and certain "other" things are always measured in inches!!! ;D

Agree - it is a logical solution. Hope it has the same impact on him as last year's card. Thank you for your PM. Can't wait to be a part of this special project...

And congrats for Mark Webbers win. I watched the race too. For me it was bad that the Savety Car comes out because at this moment Sebastian Vettel was in the leading with more than 10 seconds. But a third place is good too. Thanks nicole!!! Very excited. Mark now on top of World Drivers Champs. Bad luck about Seb, don't really know he can complain about not knowing the rules about the 10 car gap behind the safety car though!!! Saw this on twitter: "Congratulations @aussiegrit , one of the best things about a Mark Webber victory is seeing Sebastian Vettel's sulky face afterwards :-) " I like Seb, but it made me laugh!!! ;D

I opted out of the b-day project this year because we may be moving. We're waiting for hubby's bosses to decide where they want to move us. So are we going to have to start calling you Topekatomato or Kansascitykitty, or is it going to be something farther away, like Lincolnlady or Dallasdame?

So are we going to have to start calling you Topekatomato or Kansascitykitty, or is it going to be something farther away, like Lincolnlady or Dallasdame? It may indeed be Dallasdame! Other possibilities as of Saturday are: GalvestonGirl, DenverDoll, and StLouis<something>. Or we may just stay here. We're hoping to stay since our sons are here and all my hubby's family is here. We should know by the end of the month. Numbat - got your PM. I'll get my card off to you sometime this week.

NO WAY! Wichi, If you become GalvestonGirl, you and I will be having lunch. P.S. I hope, for your sake, you get to stay where you are. It's good to stay near family and friends!

Oh yes, most definitely! We may visit Galveston between 8/19 and 8/27, if it's still being offered to us. If so, maybe a quick lunch?? I'll PM you with details when I find out.

I also hope you get to stay with your sons (but maybe get several company-paid trips out of it beforehand). Keep us posted!
May I suggest StLouissweetie if it comes to that? (That one and the ones you came up with are much better. My first ones had the unfortunate tendency to sound like the nickname of a woman who runs a house of ill repute. Guess that's just how my mind works.)

I like Kansascitykitty myself!!!
Just a reminder everyone, that when the server crashed, i lost all the PMs that people sent me plus all the posts on the other thread.
So if you haven't yet got a message from me with my address details in and you previously said that you wanted to take part in the Birthday Card, you will need to contact me again to re-register for the project. Nell and I have managed to reconstruct most of the previous list i think, but there may be a few people who have dropped off (so to speak!!!).

Can i ask a stupid question? sorry 10x15 cm that's a usual format of a post card, does it have to be sth nice on the back, what i mean is will it be glued to paper and it doesn't matter, or the cards will just be piled together and then it matters? Sorry to ask, it's just it's beyond me how it is possible to fit all those cards on A4 paper - which is besides point, as far a Numbat knows how to do it - it's great! just wanted to know if I should pick a card with sth beautiful on the back. Thanks.

Hey olika - just to clarify:
When i said to put your message on card, i just meant a piece of card - as opposed to just a piece of paper. I'm not meaning a post card.
10x15 is exactly one quarter the size of a piece of A4 paper. I'm hoping to be able to crop the messages a little to make them more attractive, rather than just 4 straight edged cards together. Yes, they will be stuck onto the black backing card, with scrapbookers double sided tape (not glue).
If 4 really don't fit well then i will reduce it to 3 per page.
If you have a smaller greeting, then by all means, send it on a smaller piece of card.
Hope that helps!! ;D

I have one more tinsey wincey question - now I have the card - I can't remember if the card design was landscape or portrait. I'm guessing portrait. That'll mean we want the messages written in portrait rather than landscape so they are all in the same direction and upright when the card's opened - am I right or completely wrong ? Sorry I'd not considered this before.
