... what about the twitter lady taking pics of rufus and keeping them for herself? Yeah, that's a bit mean, isn't it? We'd all share!

When I saw this thread title I was expecting an entirely different conversation inside, of a feminine nature. I've gone to twitter and "older tweets are temporarily unavailable," so I guess I missed the reason for this conversation--was someone posting inappropriate photos? Regardless, I think we have it about right here--nothing too personal or of a "gotcha" nature. We like to drool over photos, but we like to drool respectfully.

I think that if you are so to speak in the pubic eye, esp. a performer of sorts they would have to expect the photogs to follow them,. The in your fae fotos should be off limits as well as children of any public figure, uness your first name happens to be Suri. I don't think there are any questionable fotos on this board nor would we post any. Tragically we all know what happens when the paps get out of control, Princess Diana comes to mind. I recall a story when Sarah Jessica Parker had her baby, she and Matthew Broderick stepped outside of the hospital and posed for them (the paps), gave them all ample time to snap away all for the same shot, then got into their car and drove off. It was done in a calculating way (smart of both of them) no one trampled over another to get "the shot". And I find it rather refreshing that we don't see pics of our dear green eyed wonder plastered on every rag in the supermarket.

(Re the "feminine nature" bit - didn't think of that! ) It's not your fault your mind doesn't work in strange and twisted ways. It takes years of training. Thanks for the link to the start of the conversation.

It's not your fault your mind doesn't work in strange and twisted ways. Oh, but it does, Rueful, it does!! (welcome back, by the way!) (and great to see you, Peach. You're a stranger here these days!)

Re: the copyright issue. In the U.S. you'll get a take-down letter. If you take stuff down, then the copyright owner is happy. But for the most part, most copyright owners don't give a flip about photos posted on sites like this. They know full well that no one is making any money off them. (Unless it's a Disney picture. Disney is notoriously nasty about going after anyone who posts their pictures on a website.
Re: the pap issue. I think as long as the picture is not intrusive or meant to be embarrassing its OK. But I would include in the category of intrusive taking pictures in a venue where the subject can't get away. I think it would be the height of rudeness to take pictures of any celeb in an airplane, or at some kind of dinner where the option of walking away isn't available. And of course, NO pictures of kids.
I think this site has done a great job of providing pictures of Rufus. As has been mentioned before, they are all pretty much of him in the public eye and don't seem to be taken in a manner that would be annoying.

I think you are right, GE2, that "mod" would have been better - anyhow I was in a great hurry last weekend, because we intended to leave on Sunday afternoon for a few days and I was quite sure that there would be no internet available for that time.

Now we just need all these people in LA who tweet about him to take and post a photo or 2.
