hellooooo from the weird and lovely province of québec !!!
i am the resident frog. you can take the resident archeologist spot, i do not believe it has been taken yet.
procrastination... yeah... the way my apartment looks, it must be chronic here too.
i liked your view on "The Man"'s roles, even if i still get a bit spooked whenever a rooftop member mellows to his terrifying aggie ( although the sequence in the bath does have a strangely soothing effect on me), but, you know, he is never ever bad. not even in extreme ops - hold it, i have to ROTFL a little now, as i do everytime i think about the awfulness of this opus.
he was a gorgeous (and a bit more likable) king in charles II, have you seen that? my own favorite, along with dominic in illuminata, his petruchio in TOTS, of course, and mick in IASL, and seth in cold comfort farm, and as MY giles in the woodlanders and as paul in vinyan, and ali baba in arabian nights, and marke, and tom, and albert and thomas and john and jacob and and and and and (taking a deep breath)
what can i say. i do think that "The Man" is highly decorative, but i also believe that he is the most under-appreciated actor of his generation. he even improves with age, so we have not seen his best work yet, i am totally convinced.
have fun! very nice people here!!!

Hi Nell & Tipou,
Well, there always has to be a first one. :^) Just as long as you guys don't ask me if aliens built the pyramids...
Ah, Tipou you live north of me, I am in the northeastern US on the East Coast. :^)
I felt conflicted about Albert. I would start to feel sorry for him and then he would do something so....stupidly man-like and closed off (you know how they get when they do not want to admit that not all is right with their little world). Albert, de-nial ain't just a river in Egypt...
I am in total agreement about Troy. Hollywood ruined it. Sigh. I've known Agamemnon for longer than I have known R as Aggie, so I was impressed by The Man's version. Plus, he was a much better looking Agamemnon than that big guy in Troy! :^)
I have seen some of his older stuff. I enjoyed his Charles II. And I felt very sad for Marke (Isolde is a silly cow). I especially liked CCF because it made me laugh. I was surprised by the fact that I liked Dark City. I don't normally like sci-fi movies, but that one was a happy surprise of a cross of a sci-fi with a Maltese falcon/film noir. Unfortunately, he reminds too much of an old boyfriend as Jasper, so there is always a moment of art imitating life when I watch that movie--so Kate is my favorite character in that movie! (sorry Jasper!) I totally loved Petruchio (and, now that I think of it, Petruchio reminds me of a guy in high school that I had a huge crush on and I almost dated - eyeliner, nail polish and all (well, maybe not the skirt)). There are a couple movies that I have not seen, and mostly that is because Netflix doesn't have them (except for Extreme Ops, because...well...erm...).
I agree with you, tipou, but I also tend to prefer British actors versus American actors. It seems that most good Brit actors have a much greater range of abilities than American actors, but maybe that is because they work on stage, screen and tv, and they are able to work in an ensemble rather than requiring that the spotlight just be on them alone?
