Hi girls! I joined to the Rooftop in January, but I wrote my first post only today. Maybe this could be a definition of a shy-type member? But now I had a good reason to step forward: I discovered that Doctor Syn is repeated on BBC7 and it was my duty to shout to the Rufus fans: PIRATES! ;D It's a great opportunity to have fun: a boyish story read by Rufus to amuse girls. ;D ;D Judy gave me a little encouragement with two to introduce myself, but first I would like to thank everybody for every piece of information and picture and laugh and smile and kindness and ... that I've got and enjoyed here. My Rufus-love improved a lot with your help. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D My little story: Charles was on TV when I fell in love with the king. Next one was TOTS when I fell in love with Rufus. Next Ode to a Beautiful Nude when I fell in love with the English language. Now I'm a good fan: watching the films, listening the audios, reading Zen books, staring at pictures ;D and going to cinema. My cinema-premiere was Vinyan. It was great! And I was alone. In the whole cinema. Absolute alone! (Yes, Hungarian people are blind ) But I enjoyed the situation, you know very well why. Paul was only mine ;D ;D ;D And this is my Hi picture to you:

Hi Adina Welcome. Thanks for the Dr Syn tip off. I've just listened to episode 1. Love the Hi picture too ! I see you are a lady of great taste. Charles 2 and Petruchio were a great introduction. I think the Vinyan publicity must have been even worse on Hungary than in the UK if that's possible. I'm sorry your Highness I have to break the news - the fangirls are fighting over Pail again ! ;D

Yaaaaaaay! Adina came out of hiding! I thought it was especially appropriate that the BBC is airing Dr. Syn this week since the world just celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Hi Adina and welcome to our group. I fell in love with Rufus the second time I saw "A Knight's Tale" (it takes me a while to make intelligent choices obviously!) and continued my love affair with Ru during "An Honest Courtesan" and "Dark City" (can't get enough of the bathtub scene and thankfully it's on YouTube!).
Hope you enjoy your time with us, a lovelier group of ladies cannot be found on any site!

Welcome, Adina - what a sexy pic you chose for your hello message to us! No need to tell you where to look for Rufus goodies, it's clear you've had a very good look around already.
So glad you overcame your shyness and spoke up - I look forward to "seeing" you around on the boards!

And i'm extremely jealous that you watched Vinyan ALONE in a cinema. Alone with Paul in the dark............ (Vinyan wasn't even shown in the cinema here!!) Have fun ;D

Hello and welcome Adina! Nice that you overcome your shyness. You have a good taste of movies. I love TOTS too and I love also Tristan & Isolde. Not because of the movie but because of Rufus as Lord Marke. Have fun here. Nicole

Welcome Adina!
I'm glad to see that now you've started to take a more active part in the rooftop.
And many thanks for your information about Dr. Syn! I've been trying for some time to get a (legal) edition of it, I even contacted BBC - without success.
You're always so helpful - I think of your PM about TOTS when I started at the rooftop!

Thanks for the greetings!
Numbat, if you need bigger green eyes, than I can post the original pic. I made it smaller, I thought it would be a better size here, though Petruchio told me: "What's the matter with you, woman? The more the merrier!"
And Rugirl, yes, sometimes we can watch the same film with different eyes. You watch a film, then you find your fan-eyes, and you can get a new and better version of the same film. Now I'm in a similar but even more interesting situation. I watched Anthony Zimmer on TV months before and I liked it very much. Then the news came, the Americans were going to make a new version. First I was annoyed: Why should they remake this pretty good French film? But now I know it. They put Rufus in it to get a better version. ;D Now I take the opportunity to warn everybody: don't be too curious before watching The Tourist and be very careful with the spoilers because if you are innocent enough the story could be really exciting. ;D ;D

"Then you find your fan-eyes" - what a wonderful expression, Adina, and so true!
I first saw Rufus (or first became aware of him, I should say - I may well have seen him before that and not realised) in "Charles II", and although I was very taken with him, it wasn't until a couple of years later, when the trailers for TOTS began, that I sat up and began to take notice. I was due to go away on holiday and started panicking that it would be shown while I was away (it wasn't - phew!) and then after seeing it, I re-watched Charles II, and as you say, got a completely "new" version of it!
Of course, we watch everything with fan-eyes here! I call it Ruality!

Yes, GE2, I know this kind of panic. But my case was worse, I postponed visiting my parents because of Charles II. ;D That was the moment when I realized that something had happened with me. First I was slightly ashamed, when I was a teenager I didn't do this fan thing. But now I feel myself only richer: - I've seen TOTS and it's one of the PERFECT films (and it's full of good sentences. I like using quotes ;D) - I've known Arcadia (I love it and it brought back Tom Stoppard into my life.)(and more quotes) - I've seen Illuminata (one of my favourite Rufus films)(and my walls have a new colour because of this beautiful film ;D) - I started to read books in the original language (now I'm reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy--even more quotes ;D) - I discovered the terrific invention of the Rooftop: Cap-it (and I like laughing) etc. ;D
It's good to be a Rufus fan. ;D ;D
