You asked for details, here they are: A Day I will never forget...
I was excited and prepared as best as I could be. My train left at 5am, no sign of strike, yet.
Glad my IC arrived on time because the ICs weren't supposed to strike. Just had found a seat
when we heard the announcement: The chief guard of the train informed us with a broken
voice that there has been an accident, the police has been informed, criminal investigation
would be started. A little later we were informed that a person has been involved and that
the complete section would be closed so that no other train would be able to overtake us.
They couldn't tell us when our train would be allowed to leave, either. We were shocked,
and with advancing time afraid we wouldn't go were we were supposed to be going...
Finally we got a chance to travel on with other trains. I was very thankful I made it to Berlin
only two hours later than planned...
A little hectic to catch up with my schedule, but I made it early to the red carpet, anyway. The
premiere has taken place in the Sony Center, the inner place is surrounded by builidings and
has an impressive 'ceiling'.
i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/Germanlady2010/Berlin0.jpgWas happy that there was no rain but it was windy. When I turned up the preparations were
still going on. The Entrance of the cinema looked like the entrance of the cathedral.
i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/Germanlady2010/Berlin1.jpgThe 'red carped' wasn't too long, and the people on one half of it would never get close to
any stars, but only see the empty cars of them and the unknown people... On the important
part of the 'red carpet' was a huge section for the press and the best chance for not invited
people to get a picture or an autograph. Two hours before the beginning of the 'red carpet
event' I found the right place for me. Can you imagine how cold you get when you stand
there without moving very much because you didn't want to loose your advantage ?! Very
cold... This part of the red carpet was devided again, on one side the stars would be
interviewed, and on the other side the unknown people could enter the building.
i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/Germanlady2010/Berlin2.jpgMore and more fans arrived. Around 7pm the first guests did arrive, too. The police and
security took care that only the right people entered the 'red carpet' and the SAT1 crew made
sure who would go through the press section. The people from the production company were
the first to appear, have to admit I didn't know them, but when they got interviewed we
could see and hear that thanks to a big screen and speakers. Then the not so known actors
and actresses arrived. Finally the stars began to show up. The volume turned up and you
couldn't hardly hear what was said on the interviews...
At 7.40 the all important car did arrive. Rufus was in a car with Natalia Wörner (Ellen). You
have already seen the pics from the pros. Here is mine, which is my new avatar, too:
i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/Germanlady2010/Berlin3.jpgThey gave many autographs. (Did I mention how happy I was -and still am- that I got mine?!)
Got the chance to talk a few sentences with him but never came to the back to London or Los
Angeles question. Then they started the inverview series. Even though it was clearly business
he had his fun. Think after 'TPOTE' our beloved Rufus will be very well known here in Germany, too.
It was high time for me to get into the cinema. From my place I could see Rufus, that was a
real kick for me. Seeing him on the big screen in his part as Tom Builder was simply over-
whelming, even though I did have seen the series before. The only minus, I missed his
voice... After the showing of the film (the first two hours) and a little teaser there was an
aknowledgement of the participants, they appeared on stage:
i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/Germanlady2010/Berlin4.jpgAfterwards there was a get-together for invited guests only... I left the cinema but am still
in 7th Heaven.
Thank you all for your wishing well, it worked out. Love your idea, Luckylady me...
Thank you, Rufus, will treasure this memory.
