Just a warning, I am PWI (posting while intoxicated...took me 3 tries to spell that right!). Have been hoping that maybe I would spot Rufus while I'm here, but so far, no luck. (I'm really not surprised...) I did visit the Grove yesterday, and I saw where the photos in August were taken. My sister was wondering why I wanted to linger near the smoothie stand, and I'm sure my glassy eyed, rapturous look didn't help, but she's thought I was nuts since we were kids, so no biggie. On the plus side, we are going to a taping of the Tonight show with Jay Leno on Monday. Don't know if I'll get on camera or not, but if my past history is anything to go by, I'll probably do something stupid for whomever might be watching...going to spend more time in LA monday, so maybe, if I'm really really lucky....I actually haven't seen anyone famous since I've been here, hence the drinking (that and the fact that my parents are driving me mad, bless their hearts).
amyway, maybe if some of you kind hearted fangirls would cross your fingers for me I might get lucky.....

Sounds like you are having a good time. We know Rufus will be in London 11-22-10 but I hope he is in LA now and you get to "run in to him". Just being where he has been is exciting. Keep the Rufus Radar on! Fingers are crossed!

Thanks kygal...am keeping the radar on, but since he will be in london soon, I doubt he will be here now, but stranger things have happened, right?

He could easily be in LA right now before he heads back to London. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

my next chance is tomorrow. We are going to Venice Beach, I still have to get a photo of the hollywood sign, and then we have tickets to Jay Leno. (the guest is Russell Crowe......not my fav, but i guess not the worst in the world, either.) Watch Leno, maybe you'll see me, I'll be wearing a purple sweater.
And maybe, if we all keep our fingers crossed....you never know.

Hope you're enjoying yourself in LA, rumantic, even without spotting our guy. Maybe you'll spot him at the airport? You never know!

Hope you are having a great time. You can also try the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica for people watching. Lots of stars live in or near Santa Monica and they've got great stores there too. Similar to The Grove, although I prefer the Grove for shopping. If you have time to do a tour at one of the studios, Warner Bros. is the best in my opinion. Depending on what's happening production wise you may be able to see some peeps there. I was having lunch at the commissary the day they shot the helicopter crash scene from ER so there were lots of people walking around in scrubs with blood/gore. I've also been in the Wardrobe Dept and watched background dialog being looped in the Sound effects studio ("Lois & Clark" a long time ago...LOL). If you can get into Paramount, it can be interesting as well. Been through the Prop department (yeah, Addams Family stuff!) and on the set of Entertainment Tonight, and the Brady Bunch movie set. The set had been struck (meaning all the furniture was gone) but pretty strange standing in the middle of the living room looking through the kitchen to the "back yard" which was astro turf. They had the Star Trek set "closed" so you couldn't get near it without the proper credentials. Bummer.

I really wish I'd talked to you last week! We waited in line for leno for over an hour and were about 10 people away from the front of the line when they said they were full....went back to the grove and had dinner, it really is a lovely place, I can see why people like it.
other than that, not a single celeb sighting, and I'm glad to be heading home.
I was a theatre major once upon a time, so I know just what you are talking about when you talk about the studio sets...that sounds really cool and I wish we had time to do something like that. But you are right, there is always the airport tomorrow!

;D glad you liked it...had to sneak away from my 73 yr old parents to take a pic of that..felt like a teenager again (in more ways than one).
I can't imagine what I would have said to try and explain it....
"No really, mom, I thought something was wrong with my camera, that's why I was hiding next to the bathroom taking a picture of this billboard..."
