Now, i think we're all resigned to the fact that, despite the fact that he is QUITE OBVIOUSLY the sexiest man alive, Rufus is not going to feature in People Magazine's deliberations any time soon because through his own actions, he keeps a low profile. To be quite honest, most people who read that mag have probably never heard of him (except maybe as that english bad guy from AKT - and even then they wouldn't know his name). BUT, as judy points out, Jon Hamm is a different kettle of fish. He IS American, he IS on their TV screens regularly both on Mad Men and guest appearances on shows like 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live. He voices commercials for Mercedes Benz, he's on the cover of magazines like GQ and he's on the big screen in The Town & Howl & Stolen. And he's funny, AND a million times sexier than Scarlet Johanssens husband (whatever the hell his name is!!!) I agree with judy, Jon Hamm was absolutely freaking ROBBED!!!! Although like someone else we know, i expect he doesn't really give a s***!!  Now if he was second behind Rufus, i could understand............. |

Rufus is so much more sexy than all of these guys. Absolutely dippy - i don't think you'll get any argument from any of us!!!! But..... for the reasons i mentioned above, Rufus wasn't in the running and probably (to his great relief i expect) never will be. But the point is that Jon Hamm was in the running and he came second behind Ryan Reynolds (Mr Scarlett Johanssen!!!). As judy said, he was ROBBED!!! |

These are the same editors who, in only 25 years, have had to give out the award to the same person more than once, 4 times. That is, 4 different men have been named twice each--from a world population of about 3 billion men! Talk about a lack of imagination.

Agree. I sent a little e mail to editor@people.com just to mention they left Rufus off. I think I did this last time also and I dont think they cared. Doubt Rufus does eighter.

I have also been snubbed by People Magazine. They did not publish my email response to their sexiest man issue. At least I am in good company! LOL!

Rueful and Kygal, I know how you feel and it's very hurtful, isn't it. My problem is slightly different. I keep offering to play opposite Rufus in any of his films, and I wouldn't need to be paid. But they keep passing over me and choosing other far inferior women.  I am ideal being 5ft 2, overweight pleasingly plump and slightly greying with blonde highlights . I am sure Rufus doesn't know about this but I don't like to tell tales.  |

Francesca - Only just read your funny post from Dec 12.
I'd love to offer my services too, re: playing opposite Rufus.
In my case I'm 5' 5", unpleasingly plump with dark (coloured) hair.
Sadly I would also require a body double as I'd be too embarassed. He's be sooo disappointed. He deserves so much more.
I would be the equavilant of the hag that he was worried about being landed with (as a wife) in T&I. lol

I realize that this is an old thread, but I just have to thow my two cents in...Ladies, you are ALL beautiful in your own way, and inner beauty is what lasts...I mean, Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most beautiful women in the world, and have you seen her lately? Time marches on across all our faces.
Oh, and by the way, People Mag asks me to be on their most beautiful list every year, but I turn them down becuase I don't want to make all the other ladies feel bad about themselves....hahahahaha!
