Count Adhemar's (Rufus Sewell) Metal Suit Of Armor

This item is the suit of armor worn by Count Adhemar (Rufus Sewell) in the 2001 Heath Ledger medieval film A Knight's Tale. The armor can be seen in the the film as William Thatcher (Ledger) battles Adhemar in an epic joust. The metal armor, which features intricate antique detailing throughout, contains numerous pieces including helmet with flip-up front visor, the rounded shoulder plates, which also extend up on both sides of the neck for extra head protection, chest plate which extends down the entire torso and also covers the upper thighs, arm pieces with hinges at the elbows for easy movement, hand guards that extend from the forearm and cover the entire hand, as well as the leg armor which extends from the upper thighs all the way down to the ankles. Underneath the extensive armor is a suit of chainmail, which is made of a thin rope-like material and carefully painted silver to resemble metal, making it much lighter for the actor to wear. The chainmail extends down to include the feet, which include hard rubber soles. The armor pieces are all fastened using attached metal pins as well as leather straps that feature buckles. I saw that, too. I hope this means he's starting on that well-deserved vacation! (But I also hope that his period of unemployment is only as long as he wants it to be!)

I am curious, though, how a star with magnetism like his, who makes heads turn when he simply walks in a room, manages to walk past all the papparazzi camped out 24-7 at LAX without them posting a single photo online. Good on him, though, in keeping his private life private.

Dunno, but had I been standing on line behind him, I would surely have fainted! Maybe Ru has the same ability that Marilyn Monroe had; she was alleged to be able to walk down the street unnoticed until she mentally decided to "be" Marilyn and the Paparazzi would then swarm around her. With a man as charming as Ru, maybe he turns it on and off like a faucet?

I think Twitter's probably the best gossip medium isn't it ? Somehow it doesn't seem as in your face as the paps.

I know we all enjoy looking at new photo's but I prefer it if they're not pap shots. It must be pretty annoying having a camera shoved in your face or a long lens spying on you when you're minding your own business. I think it's ok if he knows he's being photographed and he doesn't mind or if he's at an event that you'd expect to be photographed at, but there are occassions when it seems a bit of an invasion.
I once came across a clip on youtube when someone actually sat behind Rufus on a plane and took video of him. What a damn cheek.

Sunset Junction does sound like a lot of fun. It's a wonderfully diverse Street Fair with lots of great music stages--proceeds go to area youth programs. If I lived in the area/state I would have been there...especially to catch Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros set!
