Before I introduce myself: I have a confession to make. Up until about a month ago I didn't know Rufus Sewell existed. But then I read in my tv-guide that Pillars of the Earth - one of my favourite books - was now a tv-series. Now I always forget to watch tv, and the series was well into the 3rd episode, so I impatienty downloaded the complete series and...bingo, I mean Tom Builder So the last weeks I've done some in depth research and watched about 26 Rufus-films/series, starting with Eleventh Hour. I discovered I had seen Rufus on screen before, in T&I - and now I know why I didn't like the story ("whatever's wrong with nice king Marke?"). But apart from the many films I've discovered this place and its friendly funny inhabitants. And some of you write excellent fanfiction! I'm exactly one month older than Rufus (but age difference doesn't bother me), married to a very understanding man (he likes watching films a lot), I have 3 kids and a cat and I live in the North of the Netherlands. I love black curls, green eyes and everything British (including Welsh & Scottish).

Welcome anyother
It hit's us all in much the same way. You watch 1 thing and then have to search frantically for every piece of work ever done. I love the variety. I never get bored watching his performances. What are your favourites so far ? If you haven't seen The Taming of the Shrew and Charles 2 yet I'd put them on your Christmas list.
Good to see you here.
Nell

Hello and Welcome Anyother, I am sorry to have to tell you, that you have a very bad case of Rufusitis . It is totally incurable and what is worse , you will not want to be cured. Further, there is a swift descent into insanity, and you'll love that too. Please join in . You can rant and rave about Rufus as much as you like and no-one will roll their eyes. I am 40, I have a husband known to all as M(o)B , [ My other Beloved, My Beloved being of course Rufus , also known as My Very Demanding Fantasy Lover , MVDFL] And three children . And I continue to wage a war with Mr Bill Gates and his inventions when I am not trying to write about Kate and Petruchio. lots of love , Frannie

Aaaaaah Anyother. It appears that you will fit in very well around here. You have all the characteristics of a full fledged Rufus obsession. Enjoy the opportunity to watch him in one new thing after another. I still think it is the most rewarding part of the condition. When you can do nothing else but watch Rufus for weeks and weeks on end and everything you see is new!!! And what a wonderful way to meet him via gorgeous Tom. Hope you enjoy yourself here (i have no doubt you will!!!) ;D

Like anyother Rufus admirer on this site, his talent has just swept you away! Welcome, it is a really exciting time to be a Rufus fan, since he just had a great showcase for his talents as Tom in POTE, and soon probably one of his all-time intrigueing and most perfectly suited roles as Aurelio Zen is coming up! And The Tourist in just days. Oh, all the Rufusness! It is almost too much. Almost. Because we LOVE that so much of Rufus' work is finally coming out around here, after so many months of eager anticipation. And trust me, a person doesn't realize the excruciatingly true meaning of the word anticipation until one has waited for a Rufus flick to come out. ;D

Ah Anyother, it hits many of us like that. We see Rufus in one thing and are immediately smitten. And then go on an obsessive hunt for everything he's been in. It was Eleventh Hour for me. Welcome to the Rooftop, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes. What are your favourites so far ? If you haven't seen The Taming of the Shrew and Charles 2 yet I'd put them on your Christmas list. Nell It's difficult to choose, they all have something special, but I'm very fond of Eleventh Hour and Taming of the Shrew. I just ordered Shakespeare Retold (together with the pre-order of Zen), as my download of TOTS is a bit dodgy. I'd love to see Petruchio in better quality! And yes, I like Charles (though he has to compete with Mick and Giles - unfortunately I only saw the Woodlanders on Youtube, so there's something for the wishlist). Yes, I can feel it - defnitely a rise in temperature, and no, I do NOT want to be cured.

Hi, Anyother. Welcome here! Rufus is a great actor to have an obsession about. He has done such a variety of roles, in so many different kinds of productions, that his fans are exposed to all kinds of interesting works. So we can always claim that being a Rufus fan is educational. I'm not sure what you've watched so far (26 already? amazing and impressive!), but if you're looking for recommendations: When I first came here with my obsession, some members insisted that I should watch In a Savage Land and Illuminata. I was so glad I did. They are both really beautiful love stories, and quite different from each other. They are both older films, so I don't know if you can get them, but they are worth it if you can. Also, my first non-Eleventh Hour Rufus film was Uncorked/At Sachem Farm/Higher Love (it may be known by any of those titles). That is a really sweet romantic comedy, and he is adorable in it. I think it's still available on youtube. I hope you have a great time here at the Rooftop!

Hi, Anyother, and welcome! Oh, you're in a wonderful period, when everything's new....the thrill when you find another something to watch.....and then you have all the pics and interviews on this site to go through! How lucky you are to have so much new Rufusness all in one long hit! Thank you for joining us - you can gush away here to your heart's content without fear of ridicule. In fact, we encourage it! Glad to hear you've already discovered TOTS. I endorse Nell's recommendation of Charles II (make sure you get the region 2 version Charles II: The Pride and the Passion and not the US version The Lost King) and also check out Higher Love (aka Uncorked, aka At Sachem farm) for sweet, funny Rufus. Welcome again, and enjoy!

Hello there and welcome to the Rufus madhouse! I only joined a short while ago for the same reason you did: saw POTE, remembered Rufus from Tristan & Isolde, started looking him up on the Web and became addicted within days. I haven't managed to watch quite as much as you but my mailbox is well fed with DVD packages these days Have fun on the Rooftop!
