So, I'm 22 and ever since I discovered Rufus a couple years ago when a friend of mine had me watch Dark City, I've been nursing a bit of an obsession... Okay, so maybe "a bit" is an understatement. XD I so don't even care that he's a little over 20 years older than me; he's super gorgeous and an AMAZING actor.  I haven't seen everything he's been in yet, but I'm devouring whatever I can get my hands on!  Right now I actually own Dark City, The Illusionist, Uncorked (that was tough to find in American format), and A Knight's Tale. I had already seen him in A Knight's Tale but didn't realize it. When I saw Dark City, I thought to myself "Who is this lovely man?" and had to look him up. ^_^ The rest is history. I joined this place after stumbling upon the wallpaper thread. It's hard to find other like-minded people for some reason, and I just had to be a part of a group of people who love Rufus as much as I do. <3 |

Hi Annachibi! You're definitely in the right place! My "a-ha" moment was watching Rufus in Eleventh Hour and thinking "I've seen him before, but where?" and then Googling to realize I'd loved him in Cold Comfort Farm and Middlemarch without realizing it.  Rufus is sneaky that way. Welcome! Judy |

Ooh, I saw Dark City maybe a couple months before Eleventh Hour started. ^_^ Yes, he is definitely sneaky! XD I say it's because he has this capacity to blend into his characters, so that you don't see him so much as the character he's playing. He's marvelous like that. He was pure eye candy in Middlemarch, and a riot in Cold Comfort Farm, haha! Thanks for the welcome! |

Hello and welcome! I only got hooked on Rufus a short while ago and still have a lot of his films to watch, but I definitely agree that he's absolutely gorgeous as Will Ladislaw! Have fun on the Rooftop! |

Welcome, annachibi! I discovered Rufus on Eleventh Hour and have been hooked ever since. I don't have quite all his DVD's yet but I'm working on it. Fortunately you can catch most of them on youtube. You've joined a very devoted and lovable group of fangirls. Have fun! |

Hi, Annachibi!  A lot of people here have spotted Rufus in something and wondered where they've seen him before. You're absolutely right about him blending into his characters - I sometimes watch him and forget it's even Rufus! You'll get lots of recommendations from us for stuff to watch (apart from the comment "everything"!), but two you really mustn't miss are Charles II: The Power and the Passion (called The Last King in the US, but get yourself a region-free player and buy the UK version - there's an extra hour!) and Shakespeare Retold: The Taming of the Shrew (or TOTS). I couldn't tell anyone about it until I found The Rooftop.
and found there were other Guilty Pleasure Loonies and I didn't have to hide it.
My most favourite Guilty pleasure is Wed night when M(o)B goes out and I can watch Roofie-baby on my own ( any DVD) with a bar of my favourite choc and a glass of wine .

Welcome on the board Annachibi Guilty pleasure is what Rufusitis can give you ;D I'm not sure where you're from, but if US; should you be in an area where "Block Buster" store (they're closing out), try to get there before it's gone and see if there are some Rufus' movies still out for grab. That was my guilty pleasure 4 weeks ago in that store, bought Amazing Grace, Vinyan and DownLoading Nancy for such a deal, real deal!! Have fun in the forum |
