Inspired by KissMeKate on the "Atonement" subject; I wonder how many of our 339 wonderful Rufians is closing their 2010 book by having a Ruf-athon ? I - for sure is one of them

OK, this thread is forcing me to confess. I did a bad thing - I snooped on hubby's phone.
It was his own fault, he asked me to bring it upstairs for him and I just happened to notice the little star indicating that he had an email. Well, I just happened to notice that one of those emails was an order confirmation from Amazon.com. Which I just happened to open.
Guess who's getting a bunch of Rufus DVDs for Christmas! So yeah, I will definitely be having a Ruf-a-thon.

Yaaaaaaay Joyce! Maybe I could convince my sister to watch TOTS with me. Surely Rufus at his cross-dressing, drinking, swearing best would be able to convert her into a Rufus Fan. Wish me luck.

Way to go Joyce Don't we love what hubby + amazon.com can do for us!!!! I actually went on the site myself and order them, God I don't know when to stop that "Add to Cart" button. Judy, I'd watch it with you anytime mine is coming in the mail I'm just about ready to say bye bye of watching it on youtube ever again!!!

As I'm still a Roo-kie (as you may remember, I only rediscovered him some weeks ago), I have got a whole stack of DVDs to watch. However, I don't know how many of them I will be able to sneak into the remaining few days of the year as Mr. KMK will be home for a week of Christmas holidays, and I'm not sure how much of "Tom Builder" he can take But I'll do what I can, at least "The Holiday" should be an option, and maybe "Victory" because that's got his all-time favourite Irène Jacob in it. And I've still got two and a half days home alone

I have what I call my Slob-Out day on Boxing Day (26 December for those of you who don't have that holiday), when I spend the whole day in my jimjams. No chores, no cooking, eat off paper plates, spending the whole day eating, drinking and watching old films and what have you. Everyone knows not to phone or call in on that day. So I'm definitely going to be watching TPOTE again, and Charles II, and Higher Love/At Sachem Farm, and TOTS. At some point over the holidays I have to see The Tourist, because with flu and other bugs, visitors/visits and icy weather, I haven't made it yet. Then I'll be watching various other Rufus stuff throughout the holidays. (And I've just snagged an extra day off, yay!!! )

Yay Joyce - have you fessed up to peeking ? KMK Mr Nell says POTE is his favourite. He also liked Charles 2 so you might win Mr KMK over with an episode or 3 of those - there's the added bonus that you have more episodes to watch after the Christmas period too. GE2 that's what I call a duvet day. My niece and I have then when she comes to stay - drag the duvet into the lounge and eat peanut butter toasted breakfast muffins and drink hot chocolate. Have a bliss day. For those of us in the uk I've noticed a load of Rufusness on tv over the next week or 2. There's even Arabian Nights. If anyones not seen it I'd say record it (you'll need loads of room on the hard drive though and then you can Roof it. I watched the whole thing on Christmas Day last year and nearly lost the will to live ;D Check out www.locatetv.com put in Rufus Sewell and click on filmography for a full preview of Rufusness. Happy Christmas and Happy Rufest to you all !!!!!!!!

Might work except for the fact that my DVD is only in English and he doesn't like watching films in English (some kind of English trauma from his school days ;D ). Ah, but speaking of historical stuff, maybe Count Adhemar will do the trick! That sounds so cool! Enjoy it thoroughly, GE2!

I've had my first Ruf-athon a couple of weeks ago, but as most of the movies were downloads, the quality was so-so. Now I've got a pile of DVD's so I can have a better one. First I'll watch Illuminata (I owe that to the movie, as I was to tired/asleep to watch the first time), then maybe POTE, probably on my own cause my husband's doesn't want to see it again for some time soon (he watched with me on my pc). We just saw Charles II, but another go would be nice, and maybe Dangerous Beauty and TOTS again, and the Holiday (which maybe my daughter will watch with me). And I'll have to make some time for all the making-of & extra features on the dvd's. Just one more day of work left, before my holiday starts!

I'm afraid there'll be no Ruf-Athon at my place over Christmas since I'll have guests who will probably not be interested in films - and those films which might come into consideration are in English without subtitles - so no way out. But I already had one and I'm confident there'll be other opportunities! :'(Merry Christmas and Happy Ruf-Athons to you all!

You'll definitely need some good excuses, Francesca. Maybe you could find some excuse to lock yourself in the bathroom every now and then - you'd have to have a tv & dvdplayer installed there ofcourse. ;D
