"Do you think they've finished yet?" "Well none of them are moving." "They looked all argued out to me." "Ooooh, except that one, I think she's trying to look up your skirt Aggie" "Oh, I think she snuck a look, she's just passed out again" Aggie: <Sighs> It's tough being a sex god in a skirt. No one gives me any respect.......I don't know why you're complaining Aggie, apparently rueful doesn't even find me physically attractive. And after i got my gear off for her and everything.Pah, i spit in your general direction........

LOL, Numbat! (eh that would be a cool game - "quoting which movie?") Hands up all those who want Tipou to start a Movie Quotes game. Go on then, Tip!

This feels like very familiar territory. Just as well, because Aggie's invited me for a bath, and I must run along. Great. Now everyone knows we have the emotional maturity of 12 year old boys. ROFLMAO, numbat! Once again, you have proved your ability to encourage a cease-fire with your captions. Ever thought about going to the Middle East? Me! Me! Me!

I thought the very same thing! "Go away, or I will taunt you some more!" I hate to say it, but Helen of Troy is yet another movie of his that I found pretty disappointing. Rrrufus played his role extremely well, but I have come to learn that any movie with John Rhys-Davies is disappointing. He is in far too many lame sci-fi movies here in the States and the moment I saw him in HOT, I knew the movie wouldn't live up to my expectations...sigh.

What? Who the hell are you? Have we met? There, there Aggie. We know you're the Supreme Ruler. We respect you.Just stick with the boys, mate. You know how fickle those damn women are. Especially that new one over there.

Oh, don't be such a poo, Numbat...LOL
I think Rrrufus was wonderful in this movie just as he is in everything he does! However, I made the mistake of watching the "Making the Epic" disc before I watched the movie itself. After seeing all that hype about HOT's elaborate scenery and detailed costumes and extensive training, I was prepared for something on the level with Braveheart. But nooooooooooo, what I watched for 3 long hours was a movie far beneath Rrrufus's calibre as an actor, with a sea of many inferior actors, and some pretty sloppy stuntwork. Perhaps they should've spent more money on hiring the cast than they did on the meaningless handmade pottery and jewelry and such. I bet Rrrufus himself has a few regrets about this one. He's way out of their league...
I loved the skirt though. (Cheeky monkey!)
And I love that you took the time to piece that post together.....(hugs)

I think my favorite scene in HOT, although not the happiest, was when Agamemnon sacrificed Iphigenia. When the camera panned to Rufus's face after he killed his own child was just heartbreaking.

I think that was one of his best moments in the series too, Gina. His grief was very real, despite it being self-inflicted.

yes, and once again, as in tristan & isolde notably, he is so good compared with the other "actors" that you end up rooting for the wrong guy. that's what i call "too good for the part". but, hey, i think that the only thing rufus is incapable of doing as an actor, is be bad.

I'm glad you said that because although I do like James Franco, the whole time, I found myself rooting for Mark.

(Hey I'm new here!)
I have to say, that I really love this movie and the only good looking man in it is Rufus (my opinion!) Pity that he plays another bady...! He seems to be a very funny person in real life.

Finally I watched HOT tonight and I hate him as baddies the most in Aggie, REALLY hate him! which means he did a darn great job! Despite the fact that he was self inflicted at sacrificing his daughter, I believe he is a horrible man at heart and I didn't blame his wife at all for what she did at the end. I love it when he's oozing with either goodness or badness in his portrayed characters. He's such a bad egg in this one, love him so On the closing note: To see Rufus face down naked in a pool covered with fishnets, I'd prefer Petrucchio's version better ;D ;D ;D
