Yes GE2 we can relate to that. Love what the straight guy said. I think I would expand the age range from 25 to 85.
Thanks for the info Tip.
I wish these people would just enjoy the series and quit nit-picking about accents and such.

what have you all got against caterina? MEEEEOWWWWWW? ? hehehehehehh i think she did the job just fine. about the accents, maybe because i am french, they did not bother me that much. now, for a true accent nightmare, whining critics might try watching "the night of the generals" with its international cast synched in french with overall fake german accents. then, they would know what real suffering is like.

One good friend confessed this weekend that she spent an hour online gazing at photos of him. Sadly, she wasn’t the only one getting overheated. Her computer crashed and she had to seek help from her techno-whizz husband, who promptly asked, “What were you looking at?” As she said, there’s no right answer to such a question.
(The only difference between her and us is that our husbands/boyfriends probably wouldn't have had to guess ) Definitely! Of course he is - and wasn't that exactly what he wanted Zen to be, an ordinary bloke with no artificially mysterious past? I think there's hope for more of Zen Loved the fashion pages, by the way. I must confess that Caterina's skirts inspired my recent summer online-shopping spree.

My only gripe about accents is the sexist crap the producer gave for casting Caterina Murino. "English women can't play Italian women" Pure crap! I see that Cosmia Shaw, Julie Cox, and the actress who played Cinza Milletti could all play Italian women quite well! I read somewhere else (or maybe heard in an interview with Rufus?) that the production involved some Italian money. Therefore, they had to hire some locals, and the decision was that the lead women would be Italian. So why would Andy Harries say something so tactless and untrue, not to mention stupid? He should just let Rufus do all the talking for him..... Thanks for the fashion page scans, anniem! The more publicity/positive marks for Zen, the better!!! but to me, it seemed like he almost expected this to happen. That he wasn't really expecting to see her again. Yup, that's exactly what I thought, Joyce, when he gave this little look: Awwwwwwwww! Don't you just want to give the poor darling a big hug?

I read somewhere else (or maybe heard in an interview with Rufus?) that the production involved some Italian money. That was in the Radio 5 interview (I re-listened today because I needed something to get me through a big fat traffic jam, and I happened to have the CD with "Nick Silver" and the interview in my car ...) Don't know why they always need to get back to such sexist cr*p ... Oh yes. I'll kiss it better, sweetie!

I finally managed to watch the missed 15 minutes at the beginning! The opening scene must have been the one Rufus thought of when he said Aurelio and Tania would spend a night full of tenderness and then have a bad quarrel the next day And I found it very funny that he reminded Colonna of the "holiday" for Vincenzo in Sicily (Didn't we complain after "Cabal" that he was still there? )

. My favorite parts: More Rufus, less clothes When they broke the boss' desk, rigged it up, and then he unknowingly sat on it and fell to the floor. Really liked Zen's reaction after receiving the briefcase full of money, when he really looked like he wanted to open it, decided not to, then said "Cool!" I also liked the following scene where Zen (LOVING the legs...) and Tania fantasize about taking the money and where they could go with it. I also noticed a bit of Tom Builder in there while they were looking out the window. And I thought his parting shot as Hueber lugs his belongings onto the elevator.."Oh, by the way, we shagged on your desk." was delightful. . Yes, yes and yes! And the tiny smile each time he scored a point. (As it were)

Perhaps the people who are bothered by the accents should read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. This kind of production is simply the equivalent of having a Babel fish in your ear...

I think we have had it, anniem, but thanks for posting the link because there are a lot more comments there than before. Sorry, I just have to say something about one of the nastier comments: I found Rufus Sewell wooden and unreactive.
Unreactive??? Rufus is one of the few actors who reacts to everything going on around him, he doesn't just stand around waiting for his next line. In fact, quite often, his reactions draw attention away from whoever is speaking, I find. Some people wouldn't recognise subtlety if it came up and smacked them in the face!

I agree Rufus does react, his facial features are great and as for the accent thing, this is something that is annoying me with my circle of friends. They are really bothered by the fact that everyone is speaking English but as I pointed out to them, it's not the first time that this has been done, just look at Schindler's list.
