Hi all, today I picked up dvds of Middlemarch and TOTS from my local library, guess how I'll be spending my weekend? I get to keep them for two weeks so there is no rush really, but the weather looks like being wet for a few days so I shall indulge myself. I have absolutely loved the wallpapers and LolRoofs, it took a while to go through them, what a lovely way to spend an afternoon! There are some very talented ladies here, not to mention dedicated. Thank you all for your loving work for the benefit of us less able folks. Back soon, Janet

I spent an hour or so watching TOTS, had no idea that Rufus has played so many different types of roles, I know you have all said it before one way or another but what a talented man! It would seem that no role is too hard for him to play, not that I have seen many yet. Why did it take me so long to find this wonderful man? Why aren't there more men like him available to the rest of us as a partner? Surely he cannot be that rare a person? I feel sor.ry for any woman he hooks up with, I could not share him with so many other women, although I suppose that is what we do here. He seems to be the perfect man, and entirely human too. The looks are just a bonus to the apparently beautiful soul. At least I will die happy, knowing that men like Ruf do exist even if not for me this time around. Sorry ladies, I am raving a little, he does that to me, and no doubt all of you too, we can only dream of a perfect world where he is the normal male. Must go now before I disappear into a dream filled with you know who. Good God, now I understand those words, Love Janet

In Middlemarch, Davies alllow the relationship between Will and Dorothea to accurately flourish, but then he totally screws up the scene when they get together and kiss. While I enjoyed watching Rufus stroll up her lawn in his fabulous coat, the book delivers a stunningly passionate and desperate scene while they struggle to believe they will ever overcome the obstacles to their love for each other. When Will goes to leave and Dorothea blurts out to him that "my heart will break" it is so powerful, gripping and romantic - something totally lost in the BBC production. Having read the book, I have to agree with this. It's really a pity that they passed up the opportunity of sticking to the story as it is in the novel. It would have been such a powerful scene! By the way, I just found a nice little Middlemarch video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVHYtnC74kg
