Rufus on The Andrew Marr show this morning

Fabulous interview - thanks, Claudia (and Nell, of course!)

I think this is the first time I've seen Rufus interviewed by a non-showbiz person, and even though many of the questions, and Rufus's responses, weren't new, I think having a political interviewer really makes a difference in the quality of the interview.

Three comments from Rufus that I loved:

"Zen's flaws are his normal human rubbishness" - love the way he puts that

(Speaking about Tom Stoppard being a mentor, and Andrew Marr saying he's stayed with him ever since) "I haven't stayed with him - if he'd been feeding me all this time it would have been easier!" He manages to get food into every conversation - I'm starting to think he does it deliberately for us!

"I'm fussy as though I'm being offered everything, except I'm not" - not a new comment, but I just love the way he says it, no bitterness, just cheerful acceptance.

I agree about the outfit, Numbat - very schoolboyish! ;D

Can you believe, I got a hit for this on a Rufus Google search just now, and it wouldn't play - I even tried it directly on the BBC site instead via the Google link, and it still said: "Cannot play media. Sorry, this media is not available in your territory." And I'm in the UK!!! LOL!

I'm even more pleased now that Claudia had already found the Youtube version!

That sounds horrible, but very realistic...after today we've had 2 out of 3 Zens, and that's scary.

Oh well I finally got it done - it took 3 hours so I went out and left it. I won't post it as I see we have it anyway. Mine is not as good as this one. A bit what you might call himan rubbushness

I have to say he looks devilishly handsome doesn't he. I liked the interview too.

I think I'm feeling the symptoms already, Numbat....
I'm still on theraphy after EH was cancelled, so just thinking that there are still other Zen books to be made on screen and not knowing if they'd do so....it's mentally eating my thought
