Mmmmmm, it's Joyce's birthday. I wanted to get her something really nice, but i'm stuck here in this hotel and the store in the lobby is just full of souvenir rubbish.

Perhaps i could make her something. Something tasty. Maybe a birthday cake.......




Now i've never made a cake before, but it can't be that hard. Millions of housewives do it every day and I am a scientist after all. There's nothing i haven't been able to make yet with the help of my trusty lab kit.

Several hours later.....



It's not working Rachel!! Why is it not working?? What's happening to me?? Why can i not make a simple cake?? I've tried and tried but it just won't work. I'm a failure at something and i can't cope. I never fail at anything..... what's happening..... I don't understand........
