>:(Welcome to the board from Germany! Jules, what other of Rufus' work do you know? My first encounter with him was on Middlemarch, followed by The Taming Of The Shrew which made me giggling that evening and the next day! I also like The Woodlanders, In A Savage Land and Victory very much - and now Zen! >:(So enjoy our Rufus Land!

Hello there, Jules, and welcome to the madhouse! My Rufusitis (it's a highly contagious and incurable affliction!) struck the same way, after watching the first episode of the Pillars on German TV. Then I remembered I'd seen him in Tristan & Isolde some time ago and decided it was high time to catch up with his work. And as my boyfriend was starting to get a little fed up with me drooling all the time about that Tom Builder guy, I was also very very glad to find this fine little community. I'm from Germany too, not far from Frankfurt Funny that you picked that pic with the cigarette for your avatar, I love that too! (Actually he's the only man I've ever found sexy when he's smoking.) Have lots of fun!

Jules,
Welcome to the Rooftop! You'll find this is the place if you want to talk incessently about Rufus.
BUT - you must not stop talking to your girl friend about Rufus. You must convert her to his wonderfulness and get her to join us also!

Hi, Jules, welcome! It's never any use fighting your Rufusitis. Just give into the beautiful madness!
We seem to have gotten several German members since Pillars of the Earth (the same way that Eleventh Hour brought him to the attention of US viewers). I'm glad people around the world are finally getting to know how talented he is.
I'm sure you will also love In a Savage Land. It's a really beautiful movie, and Rufus is so subtle in his expressions, as usual.
I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Ah, now I remember what I wanted to ask you: do you have the DVD of "In a Strange Land" or will you also have to make do with the youtube snippets?

Hello Jules, welcome to the board I found Rufus last year when "The eleventh hour" was telecasted here in Germany. Thanks Google and Wikipedia I found out that he would act Tom Builder in the "pillars of the earth". In the meantime I bought Tristan & Isolde, and lost my heart to Lord Marke. After that I just had to see more of him. So I bought Dangerous Beauty and Charles II the power and the passion (both in English, because there is no German version). What should I say, Rufus was about the limit as Charles II. I just pre-ordered Aurelio Zen via Amazon UK! I'm from the area of Cologne. Your will have a lot of fun with us!

Rufus is called my Secondary-Husband from my hubby LOL! That's wonderful! Welcome to the Rooftop, Jules! I "found" Rufus in 2009 while Eleventh Hour was showing here in the U.S. Realizing I had seen him somewhere before, I searched his earlier work and found out that I had seen (and loved) him in Middlemarch and Cold Comfort Farm way back in 1995! But it took Eleventh Hour to tip me over the edge into Rufusitis! I look forward to "seeing" you around the forums! Judy

Thanks a lot to you all for the lovely and nice welcome It´s also great to see that here are so many girls from Germany. White Bear I just love the scene, it´s so I´ll have to watch it on Youtube, but hopefully get it on DVD, too. @joy I´ll told her that a few minutes ago. She just said "No no you can keep him" I really will enjoy the group here as I see, there are so many nice girls with the same Rufisitis

Welcome Jules, you'll like it here! What a strange disease you had that made you ill and subsequently watch all those Rufus-movies...probably PreRufusutis Completis! I was infected by Tom Builder as well, and haven't stopped watch Rufus in his many roles since. I'm from the Netherlands, relatively close to Germany, but you'll find Rufus girls live all around the globe! Have a good time here!

Welcome Jules!!! ;D I'm sure you'll have fun here and yes, it's great to have people to talk to about Rufus other than your our husbands and friends. They put up with us, but there's only so much they're willing to take!!! And you must, must, must watch IASL. I'm a Rufus tragic who adores everything he's been in (both good and not so good), but for me IASL is the one. Of course i love our adorable Petruchio, and noble Marke, and hard shagging working Tom, and sexy Seth Starkadder, and Jacob and Frank and Charlie and Paul (and especially the devious Venetian Aurelio right now!!), but there's something about the haunting beauty of IASL and gorgeous, heartbreaking Mick. I've watched it more times than i can remember but i still cry every time (from the very beginning). But it's such a shame it's not more readily available and so many people end up having to watch it on youtube. I'm just thankful for having a region free DVD player. Have fun Jules!!

Welcome Jules - good to see you here ! Is KMK your twin by any chance ? ;D (I do love that avatar !) It's great to share in your Rufusitus - it makes me feel more normal It was Eleventh Hour that brought Rufus to my attention. I remembered seeing him in Knights Tale and googled to see what else he'd done. That was when I found TOTS and the rest is history ! TOTS is still my all time favourite. Followed by Charles 2 I highly recommend that too. Looking at the list you made you might want to see Woodlanders too. My hubby used to refer to Rufus as my boyfriend so you have an upgrade on that one ! He just calls him Rufus these days though and after we met Roof a couple of months ago I've heard him telling people what a really nice guy Rufus is. That must mean I can talk about him as often as I like - doesn't it ? Anyway - enjoy yourself here and just think when you get to the end of a long line of films you still have Zen to look forward to. Something tells me you're going to enjoy 2011 !!!!!!!!
