Hope everyone remembers to have Chinese food tonight to ring in Chinese New Year!!! Apparently we're leaving Year of the Tiger and are entering Year of the Rabbit. My mind can only speculate what year of the rabbit entails Anyhow, it got me thinking about what year Rufus was born in - apparently he is a Ram (yeah baby!!) and this is his "profile" "People born in the Year of Ram are elegant and highly accomplished in the arts. They seem to be, at first glance, better off than those born in the zodiac's other years. But ram year people are often shy, pessimistic, and puzzled about life. They are usually deeply religious, yet timid by nature. Sometimes clumsy in speech, they are always passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Ram people never have to worry about having the best in life for their abilities make money for them, and they are able to enjoy the creature comforts that they like. Ram people are wise, gentle, and compassionate. They are compatible with Rabbits, Pigs, and Horses." Now whether or not you entertain these kinds of profiles/horoscopes, i did think this seemed quite like him!! Although any faith i had as to the accuracy of the chinese horoscope was quickly dashed when i looked at mine (i'm a horse): "People born in the Year of the Horse are popular. They are cheerful, skillful with money, and perceptive, although they sometimes talk too much. The are wise, talented, good with their hands, and sometimes have a weakness for members of the opposite sex. They are impatient and hot-blooded about everything except their daily work. They like entertainment and large crowds. They are very independent and rarely listen to advice. They are most compatible with Tigers, Dogs, and Sheep" Talk too much, impatient & hot blooded, rarely listen to advice, have a weakness for the opposite sex!!! Really - how inaccurate could you possibly get???

How interesting, thanks! Elegant and highly accomplished in the arts - well, if that doesn't fit!? I'm a sheep The description is quite OK (particularly this: "Good fortune smiles upon the sheep. They benefit from wills and inheritances." Gotta look out for some unknown rich aunt.)

Yes, he's a ram.....a wonderful ram indeed. The descriptions really suit him, not all but most...
I'm a dragon. So, I'm not liking what I'm reading about it so far: a woman dragon is over-confident, along with arrogant and impatience? I do like the courage, lively and energetic part though....

Funnily enough I was reading the scorpio profile the other day, my little boy is a scorpio as well. The first thing it said reminded me off my little boy and of Rufus. It said Scorpio's are so charming that it is as if they have been to a special charm school before they were even born.

And it says we're also compatible with rams/sheep, so we'd make nice partners for Ru (talk about a weakness for the opposite sex, ay?) Glad to see the cyclone didn't affect your ability to get online! My son has a Chinese New Year's party at school tomorrow, so off to get goodies for the fete. Or maybe I will trot, since I am a horse!

"Rabbits are very timid people and quite often come across as very shy people. ;D In a situation such a public speaking a person born under the sign of the Rabbit would have a lot of trouble doing this. Coming across as very lovable people they are usually very attractive people. They tend to be very popular people among family and friends and most often give more than they can, whether on an emotional level or a finical level. Rabbits have the personality type as to not like fighting. ;D They dislike arguments and avoid fighting at all costs. Tending to be very protective over loved ones, this can lead to smothering them to a point. Rabbits tend to be very pessimistic people. ;D Also insecurities about appearance come to play quite a bit. Entertaining is a highlight of a Rabbit's life. ;D ;D They enjoy showing off what they have, but do not rub in that they spend lots of money and time getting it. Being very passionate about relationships, this can lead to a lot of long term relationships, but with the insecurities, leads to many dead ends. The most compatible relationship would be with a Goat or a Pig. "
Yes, I'm an absolute Rabbit. (And I'm a Piesces, so I'm compatible with Scorpio as well. ;D Of course. ;D)

Rooster
Years 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029 (You'll have to guess which year...)
Rooster personality traits Loyal and trustworthy, people born in the Year of the Rooster are sociable, very accomplished and usually very well-dressed.
Shrewd and daring, they are outspoken and even boastful by nature. Most annoyingly - Roosters always think they are right ... and very often they are!
Sharp and analytical, Roosters are generally deep thinkers and it is a rare occasion when something gets by them. Though abundantly practical, Roosters are also big dreamers. They are courageous by nature and know how to get what they want. If thwarted in attaining a big ambition they can become moody and downcast. However, they usually recover from a loss quickly. Roosters are rarely still for any length of time and must always be busy doing something.
Shy and conservative at heart, Roosters are can be overly concerned with their appearance and often buy the most stylish of clothes. They love to entertain, and a party hosted by them is almost sure to be the most memorable and extravagant of any.
Roosters are noted for doing anything in their power to keep friends and loved ones happy, and are disappointed if they fail. For their sincere and straighforward care and concern, Roosters are usually much loved and respected by all who know them.
Successful in any field they may choose, Roosters usually do well as publicists, entertainers or restauranteurs.
I had to find a few sites to find a description of the rooster that I didn't hate! lol.
Accurate:
Though abundantly practical, Roosters are also big dreamers. (Yes)
Loyal and trustworthy, people born in the Year of the Rooster are sociable (yes)
Most annoyingly - Roosters always think they are right ... and very often they are! (Of Course! HA) Not at all accurate:
very accomplished and usually very well-dressed. (Not really into clothes, and I am disgustingly underpaid)
Roosters are rarely still for any length of time and must always be busy doing something. (I love doing nothing.....and hanging out at the Rooftop!)
Shy and conservative at heart, Roosters are can be overly concerned with their appearance and often buy the most stylish of clothes (I'm not particularly shy, and if I were any less concerned with my looks and/or clothes, I'd probably be single and unemployable!)

I just read this about those born in the year of the sheep: Those born in the Year of the Sheep are said to be charming, elegant and artistic, who like material comforts. A bit of a worrier they also have a tendency to complain about things. Jobs as actors, gardeners or beachcombers would suit. How very accurate. Like numbat mine is way off the mark. The year of the monkey If you are born in the Year of the Monkey, you are very intelligent, well-liked by everyone, and will have success in any field you choose. Lucky old you! Just found another - You are very smart, have a lot of wonderful ideas, but are full of mischief. Like a baby learning a new skill, the monkey will clap in delight at learning a new skill. You'll perform it over and and over again until the skill is mastered. Monkeys are extremely competitive and need to do things better than anyone else. You will be good at everything you do, from magician to head of state. What a crock of ......

Rumantic, I'm a Rooster, too. The characteristics you list are spot on in some cases, and waaaaaaay off target on others. And, no, I'm not telling you which is which!!!

Hmmm, nothing for me, I'm a snake. ;D Me too. Philosopher, theologian, political wizard, wily financier--the Snake person is the deepest thinker and enigma of the Chinese cycle. Endowed with an inborn wisdom of her very own; a mystic in her own right. Graceful and soft-spoken, she loves good books, food, music, the theater; she will gravitate toward all the finer things in life. The most beautiful women and powerful men tend to be born under this sign. So if you are one of the Snake people, you are in good company. I think I like being a snake ;D
