James Franco was painfully bad, Anne Hathaway should have sung the entire script, because she sings very well. They just don't have that all-important comic timing essential for those types of awards shows.
I think the funniest duo was Helen Mirren and Russell Brand. They get my vote for hosting duties next year. The hell with the "Audience Demographic" the show was trying to appeal to; it failed spectacularly.

I get the whole bed-head look...I really do. And most of the time that look is great. But I really, really didn't like her hair.....then again I admit that I can be a terrible judge of style (if it's in vogue at the moment, I usually don't like it) so maybe it's just me. hey, rumantic, may i join the club? everyone on the blog last night was totally loving celine dion's gown, and i said she looked like a quarter back with those strange shoulder pads. but, you see, among the ctv blog host was jeanne beker, a canadian fashion reporter who rubs shoulders (no pun intended) with the likes of lagerfeld, gaultier and such. she kind of scolded me and then ignored me altogether. i was so ROTFL! i got to work this morning and told the girls: you know what, i have been scolded by jeanne beker!!!

well, I suppose if you're going to get a slap on the wrist, might as well be from someone who (supposedly) knows what they're talking about.....LOL.
Celine Dion can look a little broad shouldered.
And I like Scarlet Johanson, I think she is beautiful. That look just wasn't doing anything for me. (When I walk the red carpet I'll knock em dead...hahaha...with laughter, that is)

I agree with PGG. Actually I never liked James Franco he's sooo boring and reminds me of Richard Gere, no emotion, nothing! Maybe in his private life he's funny, etc. who knows?!

I agree, kmk.Does she do it herself, do you think, or are there stylists lurking nearby?

I agree, kmk.Does she do it herself, do you think, or are there stylists lurking nearby? hey cat! long time no see! (standing for the national anthem) there might be stylist, but no stylist can create that much, and so consistently. i once heard her with barbra walters, saying that very innocently that she never wears pants, because she has " an enormous bottom!" so, i guess, knowing one's limitations, as much as one's assets, makes one wary about the traps of fashion, i guess. and a good sense of the ridicule (in other words, true pride) helps too. plus, the gal is simply brilliant.

Salut, tipou. She IS brilliant . And so practical...I think she told an interviewer she sucked in her tummy, rather than working out, explaining how she looks so trim in a bikini .

there might be stylist, but no stylist can create that much, and so consistently. I think so too, I guess this kind of style is something you're either born with or not - that can't really be acquired in my opinion. Exactly!!
