I ran out of room, I hope these descriptions make sense! Just to make sure: #1 is what we've been talking about, Kate finds him on the couch, he chases her upstairs, drops his pants, then tells her no, not until she's nice to him. #2 is them arriving at the airport after the wedding.....he looks at her passport, he talks of "foreplay" and ending with him on the phone saying "And then I will tame the B***h!" #3 is when they are in the elevator and she tells him she's pregnant. #4 is when she leaves her office to meet with him in the park and they talk. She accuses him of stalking her. #5 is the scene towards the end, when she is barking out orders to her staff and he comes in and kisses her and he pushes her up against the desk and says he'll just take her right there! #6 is the whole wedding scene, from when they walk in, until it's over.
All of this is dependent on how much Maxx can put up on the site at a time.........we all agree to let her be the final decision on just how much of the scene she can use. We're just voting on which scene we think will best represent Rufus in Taming of the Shrew!

Okay I put in my vote for the airport scene--though just for the record, I love all these scenes! If it comes down to ties, here's my list of favorites in order: the airport scene, then the couch to the bedroom, then the wedding . . . oh, okay, let's face it, no matter what gets picked, I'll be happy! (when it comes to Rufus, I'm just easy to please! )

I picked the wedding scene. Roof is so damned funny and the whole thing really cracked me up. No man should look that good in drag! G xo

I love the "the couch to the bedroom scene". Before seeing that, I'd always liked Rufus, but had never realized he could be smoldering and sexy! I dunno about you guys, but I was with Kate. Like, "Yeah, baby! Let's do it right here right now!"

No offense but what planet have you been living on? ;D The very first time I saw Rufus in Dark City, and in everything I've seen him do since, I've been amazed at his completely natural and easy sexuality. "He's a beast, Rufus, an absolute beast! He gives off pheromones like abattoirs give off excrements. It is quite extraordinary! You have to nail some people down when Rufus walks into a room ." Remarks made by British actor Stephen Fry, one of Rufus's co-stars in Cold Comfort Farm, at that film's English Premiere.BtW, I like your icon, etherealtb! We saw "300" last night - very interesting film. G xo

Well, I first saw him when Middlemarch first aired here in the US and while I thought he was wonderful, he was just too pretty boy for me. LOL. Thanks, I'm a big Gerard Butler fan. Now there was a man that the MINUTE I saw him onscreen I was like , "YOWSA! I want!!!!" Normally, I like my men a little more rough and tumble looking (scruffy, as some might say) which is why I overlooked poor Rufus as a drool object and just really admired him as an actor. (Now I can admire both!) Frankly, I don't know how Rufus missed being in 300. Every other British actor is in it. And after seeing him disrobe in Helen of Troy, I bet he'd have looked good in a leather speedo too! He could've given Gerard a run for his money. LOL.

I don't know what planet she's living on now, but I'm still living on the one she used to live on. Sorry... Am I completely alone in this on this group? Is there no one who is even on the fence? Never mind. I'm just a freak. The rest of you probably wouldn't be here if you didn't agree with bar...

Am I completely alone in this on this group? Is there no one who is even on the fence? Well, I still don't find him attractive in Middlemarch, Carrington, or Dangerous Beauty, or any part where he is at risk at looking prettier than the leading lady. Does that count as being on the fence? ;D

They can't all be lusting after him too...

Yesterday on a completely unrelated board that I frequent, we were asked to post our favorite actors. Ruf was #1 on my list and a couple straight, male, college aged guys commented what a great job he had done in Dark City and The Illusionist. I was thrilled that not only did they know who he was but they also gave examples of his greatness. I felt like a proud mother.

My first sighting was in 2003 The Last King (not Charles II, yet) and I was absolutely possessed by his entire being. He has such raw talent, ability and magnetism - he consumed me. His eyes rule above all, seconded by his sharp facial structure which gives him a unique classic beauty that is apparent in every film regardless of his role. As well, his body language is so vocal I cannot take my eyes off him because I do not want to miss something. I usually need to watch his films more than once to capture all that is happening but it does take a conscious effort to redirect the focus on the other actors.

Okay, I have to confess, the one thing that got me from the get go were his eyes. Not just the color, which is really pretty to look at, but also the expression in them. Hope that makes sense. Hard to explain without sounding too corny.

Such a hard choice - I have agonized for a week!!! Much as I love the pond scene I have gone with the chase to the bedroom scene. The footpump just cracked me up and the look on her face when he dropped his dacks was just priceless.

okay, we've got 13 votes and we had 17 on the overall poll. Anyone else want to vote? If so lets try to get it done in the next couple of days. When Michelle gets back maybe she can start the next poll while I cut this scene and get it up for opinions on where to start and stop it. I need time for a Rufus festival in my future...
