Hello & welcome, luckygirl! Glad that you decided to join the fun on the Rooftop. This is a very nice and cosy place for all those afflicted with Rufusitis What are your favourite Rufus movies, and how did you discover our green-eyed wonder? For me, it was the Pillars of the Earth that did the trick. I couldn't get Tom Builder out of my head, and as soon as I started looking up his other work on youtube, he had pretty much won my heart If you haven't seen it anyway, I strongly recommend watching his (modern) take at Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Among my other favourites: Charles II, Tristan & Isolde, In a Savage Land, Illuminata, The Woodlanders, the lovely Zen miniseries and Uncorked. You sure that you want to join the crowd of crazy fangirls? - Nah, just joking. Go ahead and have lots of fun!

Welcome Luckygirl, you'll like this place, for sure! What's your favourite Rufus role? Come and play with us, Luckygirl. We have so much fun here, sometimes we even impersonate other actors ("come Josephine in my flying machine" comes to mind...)

Thank you so much, all of you!
I prefer Rufus when not clean shaven (Agamemnon/King Marke), probably because then he looks like my late father. Wonder what a therapist would say about that :-0
He is SO gifted, and all my pupils must of course watch the Tristan and Isolde-movie when I teach them about the Middel Ages

probably because then he looks like my late father. Wonder what a therapist would say about that :-0 I just wrote something along these lines in another thread. There are some scenes in T&I where the resemblance is almost scary. There are many other films that might serve well as teaching material - Eleventh Hour for the science stuff, TOTS as a modern-day take at Shakespeare, plus the various other book adaptations he's been in ...

Hi Luckygirl! Welcome to the Rooftop! Don't worry about your English. We all speak Rufus around here. You asked about people who've actually met Rufus in person. I haven't ... yet. But I think the consensus is that he is even better-looking in person than on screen, intelligent, funny, witty, and very generous with his time. Here's a link to a post from Dreamer (Gloria) who got to visit with him on the set of Zen in Rome! rufussewell.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=media&thread=1377&page=1#107655And here's a link to the first of many posts by several Rooftoppers who had the pleasure of meeting Rufus last November: rufussewell.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=news&thread=1559&page=8#117842 Keep reading through that thread. There are quite a few stories! There are other stories of meetings tucked away in the older threads, so spend some time looking back into the older threads. You never know what Rufus goodness you'll find there!

Hi luckygirl! Welcome! I personally have yet to meet Rufus but I very much hope I will sometime in the future. I'm still somewhat new myself and I've only been a member for about 3 weeks but I've settled right in and you will too, I know. My Rufusitis weirdly enough properly started with him playing Thomas Clarkson in Amazing Grace. I'd seen some of his work previously but not really taken much notice since seeing Amazing Grace I've made it a priority to see everything else he's been in (and end up buying it very, very quickly) and have caught up pretty quickly thanks to youtube. My favourites are the same as many of our fellow Rooftoppers: Illuminata, Tristan + Isolde, Taming of the Shrew, Charles II, Dangerous Beauty, Uncorked, In a Savage Land, Cold Comfort Farm, The Woodlanders, and of course, Amazing Grace. I have yet to see The Eleventh Hour, Pillars of the Earth, or Zen, but hope to soon! Enjoy your time here! If you love Rufus you are guaranteed a fun time!
