Hi mayogirl! Welcome to the Rooftop! A nicer group you'll never find! Judy (usually in Texas, but at the moment in England, having met a bunch of this nice group!).

What a fantastic welcome - much appreciated - first came across RS during his role as Charles 2nd - We (my mates and I) all loved it - bought the dvd for a mate's birthday - she was very appreciative - loved him in Taming of the Shrew(there is a wonderful chemistry between him and Shirley Henderson), Woodlanders (which is so poignant and sad) and of course, more recently Zen. I prefer him playing more comedic roles which allow his natural humour to come out. As I said I do think he is aging like a fine wine (why do men do that !!!) There hs been an outcry here in the UK in response to the axing of Zen - it was very popular/well made etc and the BBC axe in - meanwhile some of the drivel they put on instead would make you despair!!! Anyway thank you for the lovely welcome (today is my birthday) so it was a lovely start to the day - he is certainly very easy on the eye!!! Keep smiling everyone and have a fab day

Welcome mayogirl and happy birthday. I see you have great taste. I love the sheer variety Rufus brings us with his work. He does larger than life characters to perfection, but also the quiet gentle characters too, the normal working guy, the despairing husband he's just incredible to watch. I agree with regard to the drivel they are feeding us on tv in the uk at the moment. It frustrates me that if saving money is the main objective why don't they resurface some of the older stuff? Have a great birthday!

Hello, mayogirl, from one newbie to another! Happy BirthDay! I remember joining one day after my BD this year, so probably some connection there (at least we, gemini, have simmilar taste for good actors and handsome men). I love every role Rufus has played, but my favorites are Aurelio Zen, Petruchio, Lord Mark, Tom Builder, Jacob Hood, and Ian in Extreme Ops. I am still waiting (like you) for my doses of Charles II and Will Ladislaw. Hope you will find many interesting facts, info and inspiration here. Best of luck and have a grear internet weather!

Belated welcome and happy birthday from me, too! Glad you've found us, enjoy all the fun with so many lovely ladies. I've made the same comparison of Rufus and fine wine quite often. This man just gets better with age We share many favourites among Rufus's films. I'd also recommend In a Savage Land, Uncorked and, if you like his comedies, also "Martha Meet Frank, Daniel & Laurence".
