I love that link, Nell. Thanks for that and the pics. Moonbeam is a pretty one, too! Her Majesty's Secret Service should be included in my posh audiobook box

Oops I think I missed a week - apologies, it's been pretty busy around these parts.
I was gutted to discover On Her Majesties Secret Service wasn't included in my box of Bond. I could have sworn it was one of the short stories.
This weeks pick is however - For Your Eyes Only - enjoy all!!!!
Oh and I came up with a couple more to add to the list. Ode to Beautiful Nude and 9/1: Out of The Blue.

Oh and I came up with a couple more to add to the list.. Nell , there is a short radio play called 'Twisted ' you have left off the list. (about half an hour long) It is quite old , he sounds very young ! and unfortunately there is a lot of background hiss but well worth listening to just for what he can convey with his voice. Oh! BTW 'On her Majesty's Secret Service' is a full length story and sniff! sniff!!.. a bit sad. modified : If you haven't got it , I can copy it and send it to you,or if some one tells me how, I could try to download it to you.

Nell , there is a short radio play called 'Twisted ' you have left off the list. (about half an hour long) I listened to that one recently on a longish train trip and loved it. Pity it's so short! I'm currently listen to "For Your Eyes Only" on the way to work, and as always, I absolutely love the way he pronounces the French names and places so charmingly un-French ;D

Thanks for that Frannie - I've added Twisted to the list and a great radio play it is too!
This weeks pick is still on the James Bond theme - The Living Daylights. Now if my memory serves me correctly this is the stort story on the Octopussy disc in the 007 tin set.
Enjoy!!

Ok because I might not be around that much over the coming weeks I've done a multi pick this time:
I cheated slightly and added 9/11 Out of the Blue. Having never watched/listened to this in it's entirety and it's available on you tube. I plan to watch it this year. I hope a few of you will join me.
The out of the hat picks were: You Only Live Twice Moonraker and Arcadia
That should keep us going for a while.

OK, I'm new to this, having only discovered RS about 3 weeks ago and this site yesterday, so please educate me about the audio of the week. What is this and where can I get it if it has anything to do with RS?

Anglophile,
Rufus has narrated several audio books - most notably some of the James Bond books by Ian Flemming. They're available through amazon, ebay, etc.
The audio of the week/movie of the week is a little thing we do to make sure that we give ALL of Rufus' work the attention it deserves, not just our particular favorites.

Hi anglophile
You can also hear/see a couple of the audio's on youtube. "Ode to A beautiful Nude" and "9/11 Out of the Blue". I'm guessing if Rufus is new to you you're still working your way through the dvd's. The next stage for me was to start working through all the audio's. There are more than I initially thought out there. Enjoy!!!!

I'm looking forward to listening to "Arcadia" again soon. This one had me hooked in the very first scene - I love the "carnal embrace" definition ;D

I was making jam this morning ; preparing the fruit is the boring of jobs , so I listened to Arcadia. It is some time since I listened to it and I had almost forgotten how enchanting it is! And how young Roof's voice is! Stoppard's words and a stellar cast make this a real treat. One thing: I have read a review of this radio production and there is a comment; I quote>>> 'a magical wordless scene involving a wineglass which of course. out of necessity not in this radio production.'I have not seen the play, so if anyone who has seen it, can tell me about this scene, I would appreciate it. Frannie, I'm moving your post that I'm quoting above to the thread for Arcadia - if anyone has the same query later on, it'll be easier to find it again there. NB: if anyone does have the answer to Frannie's query, please reply in the Arcadia thread.
