The main problem will be explaining the constant stream of Rufus-related material to my family, particularly my husband. I have already used the 'a friend recommended Zen' excuse. You just have to start practicing your wide-eyed innocent stare. "Oh, Rufus Sewell is in that too? Really? I had no idea. Well, he's just in everything these days, isn't it amazing? When does the poor man sleep?"

Welcome October, and please don't feel to old for this place ;D. I can only repeat Rueful's good advice (it sort of worked for my husband too, and he only draws the line if I want to make him watch something for the fifth time): You just have to start practicing your wide-eyed innocent stare. "Oh, Rufus Sewell is in that too? Really? I had no idea. Well, he's just in everything these days, isn't it amazing? When does the poor man sleep?

I can get hold of the DVDs, etc. The main problem will be explaining the constant stream of Rufus-related material to my family, particularly my husband. I have already used the 'a friend recommended Zen' excuse. Welcome October! Don't worry you get used to the eye rolls and the "not another one" every time a dvd hits the doormat. My way around it was to order everything at once - less opportunity for rolling of eyes ;D.

Last night I started a strategy of suddenly 'discovering' and ordering DVDs of films my husband has been mentioning for ages, so I am mixing up these with the Rufus items and aiming to pace the viewings. Luckily he likes history so Charles II will be an early acquisition. Likely to become quite an expensive enterprise.

Hi October, welcome to the board. I like the ' a friend recommended Zen' excuse! I always say 'Oh it was one of my Amazon recomendations because I'd looked at Crime Thrillers... or whatever genre suits the DVD I've just bought! Of course if hubby and son are not in the house when it's delivered it just finds its way into the cupboard and they are none the wiser!! Have fun on the Rooftop ;D

Like Rueful, I've also had great luck with the "Oh, is Rufus Sewell in this?" line. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately) many of Rufus' best roles aren't always the lead/featured ones.
So sit back and prepare to enjoy yourself. This place is amazingly friendly.

Hello October, bit late to welcome you as I joined after you but I can relate to everything that has been discussed on your board from 'old enough to know better' to buying DVD's and recording any film of Rufus that comes on TV as well as obvious admiration for him and his work. Enjoy the boards ,all the girls are lovely and I am getting so much pleasure being a part of this forum.
