Hi Londonhall1! I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of moving your post into a thread of its own. That way your post won't get lost in the shuffle! Aurelio Zen was such a great introduction to the wonderfulness (is that a word?) that is Rufus Sewell. Enjoy poking around the threads here on the Rooftop. There is an unbelievable amount of information and photos to be found. Judy

welcome. if those of us from the u.s. who love rufus and england were laid end-to-end, we'd cover quite a bit of territory, so you're in good company now -- not to mention the excellent rufus-sisterhood in other locales. nice to have you onboard. hope to hear from you often.

Well, to properly introduce myself, I am from the United States, and I'm in college studying public relations/media writing, I love movies, (of course anything Rufus is in), writing, and hanging out with friends. The funny thing is I saw the Holiday in theaters in 2006, but i went there to see Jude Law, it wasn't until 5 years later that i recently discovered Rufus was in it.

Hello and welcome on board!
Zen was such fun and it's a shame it wasn't continued. But now we've got some other exciting projects to look forward to.
Funny that you didn't notice him in "The Holiday" - but then, his role was pretty unattractive (that Jasper Bloom is, I think, my least favourite Rufus character!)
What are your other favourites beside the lovely Aurelio Zen? If you haven't seen them anyway, I recommend getting In a Savage Land, Illuminata, Charles II (but not the butchered US version) and The Taming of the Shrew.

Well, I saw Taming of the Shrew, but i couldn't see it on youtube because halfway through someone deleted the sound on the video, so... I had to find it on another website, but I loved TOTS, i think he should do more comedies!

Hello, Londonhall, I've been finding the Rooftop a treasure trove on things Rufus, hope you do too. I am here after watching TOTS on hire dvd and Rufus on U tube speaking a 9.11 poem - both wonderful pieces of work: save the poem for a quiet time, enjoy TOTS with wine and girl friends my reccs there! Mark in Carrington, Thomas in ... one about slavery abolition, and Marke in Tristan and Isolde ... all great characters. After watching Tristan and Isolde three times now, am nearly as much 'in love' with Marke as with Petru.. in TOTS.... Have fun here

Oh yes, the 9/11 poem is wonderful. Keep some Kleenex handy.

Welcome to the Rooftop, Londonhall1!
Apart from the already mentioned films I'd also recommend The Woodlanders (sadly difficult to get) and Middlemarch , which was my first encounter with Rufus.
PS the film about slavery abolition is called Amazing Grace

Welcome Londonhall1 - you'll like this place! My moment of truth was seeing Tom Builder in the Pillars of the Earth - I was certain I'd seen that man before... (which turned out to be the Holiday like you did, and Tristan & Isolde). And I've been hooked ever since.

Hi again Londonhall1
Taming of the Shrew is a particular favourite of mine too. If you enjoy Rufus doing comedy Martha, Meet Frank Daniel and Laurence is another good one to watch. This is another one to make sure you don't get the butchered American version of.
I enjoy the sheer variety of characters and genres Rufus provides us with. I'm sure you will too.
See you around!
