Ideas for polls?

After the unexpected success of the Rufus facial hair poll, I just wondered if any of you want to have a poll on any particular subject?

I'll keep this pinned to the top of this section - please just add a message with your suggestions and we'll see what we come up with.

Do you think we could scoot some of the suggestions from the Rufus Academy Awards game over here and turn them into polls? I remember there were a few interesting character topics on there. As for a poll on Rufus himself, the only thing I can think of is Best Figure I agree though, the last poll was definitely interesting ;D . I really enjoyed reading the comments following the votes!

I remember when someone asked "Best tear-jerking scene?" I think that one was re-asked a couple of times and I think there was always a different answer, because a different person answered it each time. I thought one like that would cover a wide-range (Charles cried, Paul cried, Tom cried, Jacob cried, Lord Marke cried, Mark cried, Thomas cried). Or, maybe the best scene where Rufus didn't necessarily cry, but made us tear up from his character's sweetness (i.e. Robbie or Giles). What do you think?

We've done the beard thing, how about the hair? Long, tangled curls like Charlie? Wild curls like Will? Restrained curls like Tom? Or no curls, short like Marke?

Sorry to be answering this question so late. I'm with Kate, I like both Meg's and Joyce's ideas! As for me, my own high-brow (of sorts) polls would also be pretty similar to ideas from the games threads. Which character is a favorite for a particular type of role--so not totally for shallow reasons [although that usually figures in for us], but for best portrayal, or most charisma, or best-written role, etc? For example, Best King (Charlie, Marke, Aggie, or Leopold); Best Villain (Eric, Armand, Adhemar); Best Peasant (Giles, Tom, Seth); Best Loser, Puppy Dog Division (Ali Baba, Ross, Thomas Clarkson); Best Loser, Unpleasant Division (Albert, Tim, Martin); Best Husband (Paul, Tom, Marke, Petruchio).

I also think there may be some ideas for polls in the Rufus Academy Awards. I like rueful's idea of voting for the best role of a certain type.

Or what about a poll "Best Literary Adaptation"?

I love polls. What about some personal things about the members, for example the age (20s, 30s etc.) or their favourite movies, audiobooks etc. by Rufus?

It has been some time since we had a poll
How about a poll on our favourite Rufus films?

He has made such a lot recently.

 My idea is make a list and leave it open for say ... a week for members to add favourite
Then close list and have a polling week .
it is nearly impossible to have just 1 favourite so each Rooftopper can vote for... How many? 3 perhaps five?

I don't know how to record the voting . Can someone help me with that?

Not a rubbish idea at all, Frannie - thank you for it!     I think what we'll do is give it a couple of weeks due to the time of year, to let people add their suggestions.

Only mods can actually set up a poll, and it will automatically record voting, but I'm not sure if we can do multiple votes. So instead, we might have to, say, see which five are mentioned the most, then people can vote for their overall favourite - OR, the only other way is for me to list everything that Rufus has done and put all of them in the poll. That's very time-consuming, I'm afraid (although, IF I get time, I'll give it a go!  )

Thanks for resurrecting this section! (And apologies to everyone above for not responding to all those suggestions soooooo long ago now. Lack of time is my only excuse for not following them up - polls aren't so straightforward to set up as they used to be.....  )

We will have polls along those lines - after Frannie's suggestion, I'll go with one of those.

In the meantime....please get suggesting as per Frannie's idea, everyone!
