hi girls... I must watch it, after I read so many thoughts and feelings and the "little pieces of the soul". From your posts I guess Mick must be not only a survivor, but a saviour.

More beautiful caps, Kate! Thank you!
Castaneasativa, it came highly recommended to me by others on the board, and I'm glad I listened. I think you will like it too.
Anglophile, that is a very interesting (and quite sad) point about the dancing. I'd never thought of that before.

Kate, these are so beautiful! Thank you for posting them. Such a lovely film. Castanea, you really should watch this film if you haven't. After Shrew this is my favorite film. Although I just watched Dangerous Beauty again last night and fell for Marco again.

Thank you so much for these, Kate. I'm tearing up looking at these final ones. Oh Mick, you beautiful beautiful man! (After reading what Anglophile pointed out about him never dancing again, he's giving me the Giles Effect (or should that be Affect? ) every time I look at him!)

It's something I've just created, Anglophile. Have you seen The Woodlanders yet? (If not, don't worry, I won't spoil anything for you). His character in The Woodlanders is named Giles and he's quite possibly the sweetest, most beautiful character Rufus has ever played. Dominique was the first character to make me cry, but Giles was the one that made me bawl shamelessly. Any character of Rufus' that touches my heart that deeply, or comes close to it gives me what I call The Giles Effect (or Affect, I'm still pondering on which to use. Affect would probably be best since it's an emotional reaction), or, makes me want to cry every time I see them because they are such beautiful characters. Seeing Mick look so vulnerable at the station gives me the same feeling as when I saw Giles every moment onscreen.

got it. i have seen the woodlanders, but i hadn't connected the name. just finished a marathon of "a man of no importance," "uncorked" and the 2nd disk of tpote. it was my reward for finishing the house decorating for fall and vacuuming all the rugs. my husband just drifted through to ask what i'm still doing up this late (have no idea what atime it is since i removed the wall clock to hang a fall wreath) so perhaps i will head for bed, but will be back at some point tomorrow. completed a fac fic. story for tpote that i hope to post monday and am toying with the idea of a tots, but i'm not sure i can come up to the standards already set. we shall see. maybe i'll write it and just keep it for myself. have a happy sunday and be blessed.

Seeing Mick look so vulnerable at the station gives me the same feeling as when I saw Giles every moment onscreen. I've seen those images for what feels like a hundred times, and every single time his face makes me want to be in Evelyn's shoes to comfort him and make up for whatever he has been through. Usually, this kind of effect fades away after watching a scene two or three times, but this one touches my heart in a very special way. Anglophile, just take the plunge and give us both of your stories. I'm sure we'd be delighted! I did four more black-and-whites:

Good for you, Anglophile! I can't wait to read them! I'd love to try my hand at Rufusy fanfic but I haven't been able to decide which character to dedicate myself to (you'd think I'd be all over doing a Thomas Clarkson-related fanfic, but since he's based on a real person I'd have to delve into research unless that's overlooked in the fanfic world? I was also once considering writing one on Robbie Fay since I loved A Man of No Importance so much but I don't really know where I'd go with it without wanting to turn the story into one about Alfie!) Those final ones are all beautiful Kate, but I think my favourite is the final one. It looks like a scene from a dream

If i did it, megagem, you can, too. get going, girl. i've been waiting to see something of yours for several days now. just saw a man of no importance this weekend and fell in love with robby (what else is new). it was such a sweetly sad movie.
