A very Happy Happy St David's Day. Remembering as a child at school in Milford Haven South Wales. Going to School with a Daffodil on one side of my blazer and a leek on the other. Worn as a symbol of being proud to be Welsh, especially on St Davids day. Born in London but lived a life of a welsh girl. My Mother still lives in house we grew up in. My two younger brothers. Gerard and Marc are pure welsh. Born in Haverfordwest. Christian Bale and Rhys Ifans also born in Haverfordwest. Also Lucy Walter, the mistress of Charles II, was born at Roch Castle near Haverfordwest. All roads lead to Rufus:)
Have a good Day.
Love Ophelia xxx

Happy St. David's Day to our Welsh ladies (and all those who feel a special affinity to Wales, for whatever reason ) What's that you're saying? I should have worn that leek on my blazer? Sorry. I didn't get any sandwiches, and I was so hungry that I had to eat it. Oh, and as for the flower ...... that was devoured by that batty guy I met this morning. He seems to have some strange eating habits.

Happy St. David's Day! (My Dad was a David. My brother-in-law is a David. One of my favorite Dr. Seuss stories is "Too Many Daves" .)

Happy birthday to your son, Frannie! Did you choose the name because of the day or would he have been a David anyway? Judy, I remember the story. So cute. Thanks for reminding me.

My only sibling is a David, too. He's 19 years younger than I am, and for ages, everyone in the family referred to him as "little David." Now he's well over 6 feet tall and "healthy" looking. I adore the name David, as well, and would have used it in one of my children's names if it hadn't already been "taken" by my parents. Oh, to be celebrating his saint's name day in Wales. Happy times, all you Welsh ladies.

Happy St. David's Day to all. And Frannie - happy birthday to your own David. It's funny your saying you would have named him David anyway, he only happened to be born on St. David's day. My daughter was always going to have the middle name Clare and she just happened to be born on St. Clare's day.

How lovely that your kids chose the perfect birthdays to match their names In my grandparents's generation and those before, children here were often given the name of their birthday's patron saint.

Happy St David's Day everyone, we've had a lovely day up here in North Wales - bright and sunny and the daffodils are all blooming at just the right time
