oh gosh, he looks terrible Doesn't he just! Always felt very sceptical about 'the gorgeous man' playing a vampire baddie but as an actor he is the best for me (us) and now can't wait to see him in this role. Having read the excellent book I hope the film is as good if not better. He does look creepy and scary but its been so long since we've seen him in a new role. Absolutely can't wait!

I just saw the ALVH trailer on the big screen at my local cinema. Friend was well impressed and wants to accompany me to see it. We scanned the corridor for posters after the movie. there were 3 or 4. Most stated coming soon but 1 stated 20 June 2012, So it's true and not a mistake . I wonder if the US date will also move forward to 20 June.

Oh , he does look really creepy in vampire mode there. Heheh I kind of love it. ;D Looks like it's still releasing on the 22nd here in the US. I've only just recently realized movies have different release dates for different countries even in places where there are no language differences. The UK got The Avengers before us, too. I don't understand why they do that... especially because it was made here.

thx GE2 - ordered it now on amazon .... listed it already ... here's the new international poster of ALVH .... and I think, THIS could be ADAM... And someone , who's been at Comic Con, too ... wrote following: • I'm not entirely sure whether or not we've seen a red band trailer for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (I can't say say I've had an awful lot of interest in the film so far) but the one we were shown at the Kapow! Comic Convention on Saturday really showed off just how brutal the film looks set to be. This is violent, action packed and bloody stuff, although thankfully nowhere near over the top as the blood splatter effects in the likes of Punisher: War Zone. • The first scene revealed that Rufus Sewell's Adam (the leader of the vampires and main villain in the film) has his sights set on the White House. A young Abraham Lincoln listens on and attempts to take out one of his henchman. However, it appears that he has no idea that these guys are vampires as a bullet to the head has absolutely no effect. • From here, a very tense and exciting sequence begins as Lincoln attempts to escape and is pursued by the taunting bloodsucker. This whole scene takes place on the docks, and as he attempts to take refuge in a shed of some sort (unsuccessfully as he's unable to lock the door), he fumbles with his gun, dropping his only bullet. However, he manages to regain his composure and shoots the vampire in the eye. Thinking he's won, he stumbles away, turning around to see that...you guessed it...he's gone! There was then a moment which literally resulted in everyone in the auditorium jumping out of their seats.
• The next scene was far less tense, and featured a scene between Abraham Lincoln and Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Mary Todd. He confesses to her exactly what it is he spends his nights doing - hunting down and killing vampires. Of course, she doesn't believe a word he's saying and he allows her to think he's joking.
• Their romantic picnic ends with the duo outside of Mary's house. She inventively uses Lincoln's top hat to stand on in order to be able to kiss him. As she moves in, he turns his head, and the date comes to a rather abrupt end. It's not that Lincoln isn't interested - he simply wants to protect her from the dangers he faces.
• We then saw a lot of new footage, including a fantastic scene of Lincoln attempting to navigate his way through a stampede of horse, some very creative uses of the 3D effects (a whip actually coming out of the screen towards the audience) and a glimpse at some of the ways Lincoln uses his axe - turns out it doubles up as a gun! The footage ended with a much older Lincoln wielding his axe. There appears to be a lot more to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter than meets the eye and that there will be a lot more to the story than the title suggests.
• And that was it! The above description is pretty much accurate to the best of my knowledge, although there may of course be one or two inaccuracies (it was a long weekend, and this was the first of many panels I attended). One thing I AM certain of though is that the film will be much better than any of us have so far imagined. The 3D is pretty good, the special effects look top notch, and Benjamin Walker appears to be a great choice for the role. I'm still not 100% convinced, but my interest in the film has increased tenfold. Definitely one to watch out for. forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=23298577&postcount=561

Thanks for posting that PGG. And an excellent poster too. That's a really interesting read and I'd add that the article is pretty spot on (IMHO). I certainly couldn't have written it so well, but then I did have other things on my mind at the time!! I agree wholeheartedly with the description of the 'whip' coming out of the screen....it was awesome... I reserve my judgment on the whole 3D aspect of the film and 3D films in general. But that's just a personal issue as I have problems with focusing. I had to laugh....it was virtually pitch black in the auditorium, but I stole a couple of glances towards Rufus as the clips were played. Poor guy was so close to the screen (and to one side of it)....he had a really poor view of the proceedings. He seemed to be leaning forward and craning his neck to get a better vantage point. I do hope that he saw enough and enjoyed it as much as the audience appeared to. Oh and BW (Lincoln) looks mighty impressive with that axe. I eagerly await the film.

, , after being sceptical about Rufus taking on the role of a vampire, I have to say after reading this great insight into the film it sounds a fantastic film. Thanks for posting PGG. Also, hope you're right Nell, not long to wait if it is to be released in June. Thank you all for all the detective work in finding all this great info.

Its more probably Benjamin Walker, the eyes, eyebrows and nose don't look to me like Rufus' and of course the scar is not apparent. Great looking poster for the film though.

I'm pretty sure it's Walker. After all he's playing the title character.

I'm pretty sure it's Walker. After all he's playing the title character. I thought the same, because Rufus has unique eyes and those aren't his eyes. And yes, the scar is missing too!

It can't be Rufus the eye and the eyebrow are wrong. But it was great to have such a comprehensive review now I'm looking forward to the film --thanks PGG
